Ralph Bolton

I am the Director of Tennis at Santa Fe Tennis & Swim Club.

Ralph Bolton has been certified by the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) at the Elite level for 27 years. He has been the Head Boys’ and Girls’ Tennis Coach at Santa Fe Prep School since 1992. Furthermore, Ralph is also a certified fitness trainer through the American Council of Exercise (ACE).

In addition to tennis, he has taught skiing in Sun Valley, Idaho; Stowe, Vermont; Beaver Creek, Colorado; as well as locally in Santa Fe.

Ralph is married to Breshaun-Birene Joyner, a teacher at Santa Fe Prep and a Ph.D. candidate at the University of New Mexico. They have a fifteen-year-old son named Jonas.

Thomas Danielou

My name is Thomas I'm a French tennis coach, I'm working with Eric Rose at Shellaberger Tennis Club and Ralph Bolton at Santa Fe Tennis and Swim Club.

I from France, I was coaching tennis in Nantes for 3 years, I moved in Santa Fe in November 2018 to follow my wife, she's working at the National Laboratory in Los Alamos.

I started to play tennis at 5 years old and I've never stop, I started to coach in 2011, in the same time I was studying to get my podiatrist degree. Once I get my degree, I couldn't coach but I kept playing at a regional Level and doing some tournaments.

I work with two different tennis club and I worked with Santa Fe Prep as tennis assistant with Ralph Bolton.

KLAUS DLABIK

He is originally from Graz, Austria, where he received a professional tennis teaching degree from the Federal Institute of Physical Education. Klaus then directed the Regional Junior Program in Austria and later served as a Head Professional for adults and juniors in Germany, Spain and Croatia. Klaus moved to the US permanently in 1984 and managed and directed various tennis clubs in the Atlanta area and produced successful programs for players of all ages. Some of his working experiences were Director of Tennis at Summit Chase C.C., Snellville, Ga and Director of Tennis at Rivermist Tennis Club, Lilburn, GA. In 2003 Klaus was the owner and promoter of Atlanta Tennis Classics, Atlanta, GA a professional event featuring tennis greats Jim Courier, Mats Wilander, Thomas Muster and others. In 2010 he joined the Reunion C.C. in Madison, MS tennis staff as the Resident Teaching Professional responsible for junior and adult programs.

In 2015 Klaus moved to Santa Fe and has been teaching at the Shellaberger Tennis Center. If you don’t see him on the tennis courts you might find him on the ice rink, the ski slopes or the golf links.

His experience expanded as he worked 14 years for major tennis companies like Wilson, Wimbledon, Fred Perry and Spalding being responsible of sales and promotions throughout the South of the US.

Brad Lawrence

Brad Lawrence grew up in South Florida competing as a junior both nationally and internationally. He accepted a scholarship to the University of Miami Florida where he played number one doubles. After college, Brad played professionally for two years before taking a job at the Chris Evert Tennis Academy in Boca Raton, Florida. While at the academy, Brad helped develop and coach ITF, collegiate and professional players on both the WTA and ATP tours. Brad was promoted to Director of Player Development at Evert/IMG after winning IMG’s prestigious “Coach of the Year” for three consecutive years from 2000-2003. Following his success at Evert/IMG, he was the Head Pro at the Village Club of Sands point for five years. Brad has been with El Gancho Fitness, Swim & Racquet Club since 2010. He continues to develop juniors as well as teaching adult clinics and private lessons for beginners and advanced players with a true passion for the game.

Jake Matthews

Jake Matthews works to make tennis accessible to each and every member at El Gancho Fitness, Swim & Racquet Club. He wants everyone to feel comfortable and welcome on the courts while ensuring that the club offers only the highest levels of instruction and tennis programs for juniors and adults of all levels. Jake grew up in Santa Fe and played #1 singles and doubles for St. Michael’s High School. He made the New Mexico State High School tournament for four consecutive years and won the Individual Singles title as a senior. Jake also competed in the USTA Southwest Section and achieved consistent top 15 rankings in all age divisions. Following a successful junior tennis career, he chose to attend DIII tennis powerhouse Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. During his four years, Jake helped Kenyon achieve a #2 National Ranking. He has been a tennis professional at El Gancho Fitness, Swim and Racquet Club since 2008 and was named Director in 2014. Jake is a member of the Northern New Mexico Tennis Association Board. In 2016 Jake received the USPTA Under 30 Award for the Southwest Section.

Monica McLin

Monica grew up in Southern California playing tennis. She later moved to Arkansas where she played Division I tennis. After college, Monica was hired as the Director of Tennis at Ridge Pointe Country Club in Jonesboro, AR. She later was hired by the Jonesboro Parks and Recreation Department to be the Director of Tennis and oversee a 21-court public facility. During her 18 years in Arkansas, Monica received the PTR “Professional of the Year” award in 1998. She was also the 2 time “Pro of the Year” award winner from the Arkansas Tennis Association (1998 and 2003). She has worked with the PTR for 25 years as National Tester. She is certified at the Professional Level for Adult, 11-17, and the 10 and under categories. She worked with the USTA as a National Clinician, certified tournament referee and served 10 years on the board of the Jonesboro Community Tennis Association. Monica also served 15 years as a NCAA referee and chair umpire for the SEC and Sunbelt conferences. In her spare time, she won the USTA Nationals at a 5.0 level in 2003.

Monica moved to Santa Fe in 2006 and was hired as the Head Tennis Pro at the College of Santa Fe. She currently is an independent contractor with the City of Santa Fe’s Parks and Rec Department running USTA programs. Monica is also a licensed Real Estate Broker with The McLin Group at Keller Williams and serves as the co-chair of the Luxury International Division of Keller Williams Santa Fe.

Claudia Monteiro

For twenty-three consecutive seasons Claudia has headed up the tennis program at Las Campanas and been instrumental in developing the tennis community. She supervises special events, tournaments, classes and leagues in addition to overseeing other tennis pros. Claudia’s talent and passion for tennis has enabled her to play on the Professional Women’s Tennis Tour for 12 years (1976-1988) and in 1982 the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) ranked in the top 10 for Women’s Doubles. She has participated in some of the most prestigious tournaments around the world including Wimbledon, the U.S. Open and the and was a finalist at the in Mixed Doubles in 1982. She also has played for her native Brazil on the Federation Cup team. Members take to Claudia’s effervescent spirit and she brings boundless enthusiasm and dedication to the Las Campanas tennis program. When not on the court, Claudia loves to paint, read and take her two dogs for long walks.

ROCKY ROYER

As a young player growing up in northern California, Rocky got to be a ball boy for the all-time greats at the Berkeley Tennis Club. Laver, Emerson, Billie Jean and all the rest inspired him become a serve and volley player on the fast-hard courts of California. After moving to Texas in high school, he played number 1 at NCAA Division I Rice University before moving on to the ATP Tour. Winning ATP Challenger events on clay and hard courts in Portugal and Brazil, he was ranked around 150 for two years. After a career-high ranking of number 100 in 1982, Rocky began teaching tennis in 1984. He was the Head Pro and Tennis Director at the Sangre de Cristo Racquet Club in Santa Fe New Mexico from 1987 until 2010. In 2014 he returned to the same facility as the Manager and Tennis Director, during the clubs transformation and rejuvenation. He is now a private coach and on the Pro Staff at Shellaberger Tennis Center in Santa Fe New Mexico. Summer 2020 he is scheduled to teach with all-time great, Roy Emerson, at the Palace Hotel in Gstaad, Switzerland.

Eric Rose

Eric grew up in the Northern Virginia and fell in love with tennis at a young age. He went on to play for George Mason University in college. Upon graduating Eric made his way to Colorado where he began his career in tennis as a tennis pro and went on to becoming a tennis director, owning a tennis management company, and then purchased the fabulous Shellaberger Tennis Center here in Santa Fe in 2011. On a personal note, Eric is married to a beautiful Cherokee woman named Wahlesah and has an adorable child named Macy, both of whom are tennis players/coaches and will often be found on court at Shellaberger with Eric.

Michael Wayman

Won English junior nationals.

All American at USC.

Played ATP tour, WCT, and played World Team Tennis for Golden Gaters in 1978.

Saint Mary’s College Tennis Director/Men’s Tennis Coach from 1995 to 2015.
