TIEBREAKER SCENARIOS With the PSAC adopting new rules counting all mandated conference contests toward divisional record, potential ties at the top to determine a division champion will require altered tiebreaker scenarios. #UNLEASHED WEEK 10 • AT LOCK HAVEN BLOOMSBURG FOOTBALL GAME NOTES @GOBUHUSKIES • #UNLEASHED

FROM THE ARCHIVES By Bloomsburg University Archivist Bob Dunkelberger Bloomsburg’s 21-point win over East Stroudsburg on Saturday tied the largest margin of victory in a home game versus the Warriors since a 28-0 triumph in 2000.

The Huskies ended the regular season with a 5-0 record at Redman Stadium, the ninth perfect season since the stadium opened in 1974. That does not include two seasons with no defeats and one tie in 1986 and 1995. Over the last 15 years, their regular-season record at home is 69-10.

Bloomsburg has won its first nine games for only the fifth time in program history. The other four seasons were in 1948, 1985, 2005 and 2008. Since that year, the Huskies had won their first eight games four times, in 2009 and 2011-2013, but each time lost game nine.

The Huskies overall record in the first nine games of the season for the past ten years is 81-9.

A win Saturday would give Bloomsburg 10 victories for the 10th time in 117 seasons of football and for a school record third consecutive year. It would be the seventh 10-victory season in the past 10 years, with the only ones prior to 2005 being in 1985, 1996 and 2000.

The upcoming game with Lock Haven is the 87th in the series between the two schools, dating back to the first meeting in 1908. Bloomsburg’s record in the previous 86 games is 45-38-3, with a mark of 26-16-3 at home and 19-22 on the road. Since 1993, the Huskies are 14-1 versus the Bald Eagles and have won the last four games by a combined score of 207-13.

The upcoming game with East Stroudsburg is the 86th in the series between the two schools, dating back to the first meeting in 1907. Bloomsburg’s record in the previous 85 games is 40-43-2, with a mark of 20-22-1 at home, 20-19-1 on the road, and 0-2 at a neutral site. Since 1994, however, the Huskies are 18-3 versus the Warriors and have won eight consecutive games.

#UNLEASHED WEEK 10 • AT LOCK HAVEN BLOOMSBURG FOOTBALL GAME NOTES @GOBUHUSKIES • #UNLEASHED Paul Darragh HEAD COACH • SECOND SEASON Paul Darragh was named head coach of Bloomsburg University on Dec. 6, 2013 after being ap- pointed as interim head coach in February 2013. Overall he will be starting his 18th season with the Huskies in 2014. During the 2013 season Darragh led the Huskies to a 10-2 record, a PSAC championship and a berth in the NCAA playoffs as part of the strongest season for any first-year head coach in school history. Following the season he was honored as PSAC Eastern Division Coach of the Year. Under Darragh’s leadership, the Huskies had four All-Americans including Harlon Hill Award- winning running back Franklyn Quiteh who was honored as the top player in Division II. Blooms- burg also had national finalists for the Cliff Harris Award (top small school defensive player, Larry Webster), Gene Upshaw Award (lineman of the year, Brian Clarke) and Fred Mitchell Award (top place-kicker, Danny Fisher). Following the season, defensive end Larry Webster became the sixth player in Bloomsburg history to be selected in the NFL Draft as he was picked in the fourth round by the Detroit Lions. Darragh previously served as the Huskies’ defensive coordinator for 16 years under legendary head coach Danny Hale. Under Darragh’s leadership the Huskies’ defense has ranked in the top-half The Darragh File of the PSAC in total defense seven of the past 11 seasons, including back-to-back second place finishes in 2000 and 2001 and a second place in 2009. The Huskies have also ranked among the best Alma Mater: Temple (‘85, ‘89) in the PSAC in run defense finishing first or second five times, including second in two of the last four seasons. College Coaching Experience Bloomsburg Head Coach The 2009 Huskies finished third nationally in scoring defense (13.36/game), pacing the PSAC. BU Bloomsburg Defensive Coordinator also led the conference in sacks, ranking 14th nationally (3.09 per game). In 2010 the Huskies were Indiana (PA) Linebackers eighth in Division II in rushing defense (85.38 yards per game). Overall under Darragh’s leader- William Patterson Def. Coordinator ship, the Bloomsburg defense finished in the top-15 in NCAA Division II six times since the 2000 Gannon Defensive Coordinator season. Gannon Linebackers Northeastern Linebackers Darragh has also coached 58 first team All-PSAC performers, 11 All-Americans and two PSAC Temple Graduate Assistant East Defensive Players of the Year in Anthony Smith (2009) and Mike Varanavage (2010).

Prior to Bloomsburg, Darragh worked for two years at Indiana (PA) as the linebackers coach. He started his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Temple from 1987-89. From there, Darragh coached the linebackers at Northeastern and Gannon before being promoted to defensive coordi- nator at Gannon. He moved from Gannon to the defensive coordinator post at William Paterson College before join- ing the IUP staff. A three-year starter and captain for Temple, he graduated in 1985 after earning All-East honors as an inside linebacker.

Darragh lives in Orangeville with his wife Yelena and are the parents of Sasha, 26, and Lemuel, 24, both graduates of Bloomsburg University, and Gabriel, 13.
