COMMUNITY COUNCIL/S WARD/S REPRESENTATION/S CONCLUSIONS RECOMMENDATION/S

(S1) & District and 1, 2 Amend the boundary between Cathcart &  Representation raised by GCC Officers.  No change; status quo Newlands & Auldhouse District (West) and Newlands/Auldhouse (East) to better align the geographical  Alternative representations made by both boundary. CCs with no agreement reached.

(S2) Cathcart & District and 1,7 Old Castle Gardens and Old Castle Gate  Representation raised by CC.  Implement representation Mount Florida be moved from the Mount Florida boundary to become part of Cathcart &  Cathcart & District and & Old District. Cathcart; no objections received.

(S3) & 2, 3 Amend the boundary between  Representation raised by GCC Officers.  No change; status quo Eastwood and Levern & Pollokshaws & Eastwood (West) and District Levern & District (East) to align with Ward  Representations made by Pollokshaws & boundaries. Eastwood CC and Levern & District CC are not supportive of the representation.

 Alternative representations from 1 resident and 1 Elected Member for in part alignment for Boulevard Development to sit within Pollokshaws & Eastwood CC boundary.

(S4) Levern & District and 3 Amend boundary between Levern &  Representation raised by Levern & District  Implement representation & South Park District (south) and Darnley & South Park CC, Ward 3 Elected Member and local Village Village (north) to bring neighbourhood of residents. Parkhouse and area South to City Council boundary within the boundary of Levern &  Representation reflects pre-existing District CC. boundaries.

(NE5) and 18 Merge Springboig and to form  Representation raised by GCC Officers.  Implement representation Barlanark one Community Council;  Interest shown from community residents from the two boundary areas but not enough to sustain a Community Council.

 The increased area would mirror the current Thriving Places (TP) and it is anticipated that as more local residents become active within TP, that it may generate sufficient numbers to create an active CC in the area.

(NE6) Central 21 Merge Easterhouse Central and  Representation raised by GCC Officers.  Implement representation and Easterhouse North Easterhouse North to form one Community Council.  Interest shown from community residents from Easterhouse Central but not enough to sustain a Community Council.

 The increased area would mirror the current Thriving Places (TP) area and it would be anticipated that as more local residents become aware of or active within TP that it may generate sufficient numbers to create a larger active Community Council in the area.

COMMUNITY COUNCIL/S WARD/S REPRESENTATION/S CONCLUSIONS RECOMMENDATION/S

(NE7) & 21 Merge Garthamlock & Craigend and  Representation raised by GCC Officers.  Implement representation Craigend and Gartloch to form one Community Council.  Gartloch failed to re-establish following its 2018 Full Election Year call for nominations.

 There may be a number of significant development proposals coming forward in the future, for the area of Gartloch; merging Gartloch with its neighbouring community council (Garthamlock & Craigend CC) can ensure the local community continue to have a collective representative voice on Planning Applications.

 Supported by Ward 21 Elected Member

 Supported by Garthamlock & Craigend CC and the previous Chairperson of the Gartloch CC

(NE8) Sighthill and Royston 22 Merge Sighthill and Royston and  Representation raised by GCC Officers.  Implement representation and Germiston Germiston to form one Community Council.  No formal representations received although interest shown from community residents from the 3 areas, but not enough to sustain individual CCs.

 These CCs have been inactive for a considerable period of time.

 Only having 2 CC areas in a Ward would not be setting a precedent as Ward 15 has 2 CCs, and one of these is currently inactive.
