Be aware that the Buffalo Chip amphitheater infield will be closed to vehicle traffic until 10:00 p.m. today, Sunday, August 6, as crews prepare for the American Flat Track Buffalo Chip TT this evening. The race promises to be a nail-biting match-up not only between OEM rivals but among team members, too, as Indian’s Jared Mees, Brad Baker and Bryan Smith take each other to the dirt in flat-out competition. Indian’s Wrecking Crew has racked up about three quarters of the podium positions—including four sweeps—thus far in the 18-race season and Harley’s team is poised to retaliate. Led by veteran racer and team manager Terry Vance, teammates Kenny Coolbeth, Jr., Jake Johnson and Brandon Robinson now have enough seat time on H-D’s street-based XG750R race bike to cause a ruckus. Rat’s Hole Beer Mug It’s one of the best bar- gains of the rally and it’s worth more the sooner you buy it! It’s the Rat’s Hole Bar refillable beer mug. Hundreds of really smart people bought theirs at a discount online before they got to the Chip. But even if you buy a mug onsite, for $12 you get a giant 2017 limited edition beer mug filled to the top with 34 ounces of PBR (Bud Light is $2 more.) If that was the end of the deal it would be a good value, but there’s more! Take your mug back to the Rat’s Hole Bar all through the rally for refills at just $6 ($8 for Bud Light.) It’s easy to get refills; the Rat’s Hole Bar is conveniently located in the Chip amphitheater within listening distance of the Wolfman Jack stage, so you won’t miss any of the action. The bar opens at 2 p.m. and closes after the last band finishes each night. And there’s no limit to the number of refills—the only constraint is your personal capacity. Go visit the nice people at the Rat’s Hole Bar to get yours. LAST NIGHT’S CONCERT

Night Ranger (left) pumped up an engaged Chipster audience with their super forceful energy asking fans for the revving engine salute the Chip is known for. “That’s the Sturgis we love out there!” said Jack Blades. Multi platinum RATT laid it down and went round and round to deliver solid American heavy metal to an appreciative audience (above). Lately reunited and including three members of the classic band these pro performers brought it on with their signature intensity.
