Answer MINISTER OF STATE FOR URBAN DEVELOPMENT & POVERTY ALLEVIATION ( SHRI BANDARU DATTATREYA ) (a): The State Level Sanctioning Committee of Uttar Pradesh in itsm eeting held on 12.2.1999 had approved the following 25 towns for Central assistance under the Integrated Development of Small and Medium Towns Scheme (IDSMT): 1 . Kushinagar, 2 . Ujhani, 3.Nanauta, 4 . Nawabganj, 5. Jalalabad, 6 . Kunda, 7 . Kemari, 8 . Chitrakootdham, 9. Hariharpur, 10. Maharajaganj, 11. Kakori, 12. Niyotani, 13. Haraiya, 14. Amethi, 15. Kathauli, 16. Sardhana, 17. Khekra, 18. Babarpur-Ajitmal, 19. Oel-Dhakwa, 20. Gohand, 21. Milak, 22. Handia, 23. Jhin-Jhana, 24. Jhansi and 25. Mathura. The Details of schemes submitted by the Government of Uttar Pradesh seeking Central assistance under the Centrally Sponsored Accelerated Urban Water Supply Programme (AUWSP)i s furnished i n Annexure-I. The details also includes seven schemes in respect of State of Uttaranchal. (b)&(c): Out of the 25 towns stated above the first 12 towns have been covered under the Integrated Development of Small and Medium Towns Scheme. Besides, Central assistance has also been released for 10 ongoing towns during the last three years. The details of Central assistance released during the last three years is given in Annexure-II. The remaining 13 towns will be covered under the scheme after meeting the requirement of funds for the ongoing schemes of the towns already covered. A total of 486 towns of Uttar Pradesh ( which includes 52 towns of Uttaranchal) are eligible for Central assistance under Accelerated Urban Water Supply Programme (AUWSP) of whicht he Government of Uttar Pradesh has forwarded water supply projects for 205 towns including 12 towns of Uttaranchal so far for consideration. Based on the availability of funds for Uttar Pradesh project proposals for 201 towns with an estimated cost of Rs.17567.25 lakhs (including 11 towns of Uttaranchal costing Rs.2642.39 lakhs) have been approved and Central share of Rs.8783.63 lakhs have been released so far. The details of schemes approved, funds released and the physical status of the projects as reported by the State Government and details of pending schemes for Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal are given in Annexure-III. Besides, under the Centrally Sponsored Low Cost Sanitation Scheme 69 projects costing Rs.372.43 crores have been sanctioned by Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO). As ubsidy of Rs.175.68 crores and loan of Rs.124.93 crores has been sanctioned so far. HUDCO has released a subsidy of Rs.48.94 crores to the State Government.
