Technical Sheets : Chateau Nomad Wine: "The Alemanni" Gris : 2014 Appellation: Russian River Valley Winemaker/Winegrower: Winemakers: Scott Klann & Mitch Einhorn Winegrower: Peter Fanucchi

Harvest Notes: 2014 was a third consecutive drought year with slightly above average temperatures during the majority of the growing season. Consequently we harvested yet again a bit earlier than the previous vintage. The warmer season also contributed to a bit more color in the skins and the finished wine. A of 23 degrees was the target and the pick came in pretty close to that.

Cellar Notes: The 2014 Trousseau Gris was gently crushed and then soaked on the skins at cool temperatures for 72 hours before being pressed to neutral barrels. The target was hit pretty much dead on and as a result, the juice was at optimum natural acidity levels at onset of the native fermentation. In fact, nothing was added to this wine at any time during the process except SO2 to protect against oxidation and spoilage.

Tasting Notes: Very subtly colored in the warm copper to light peach spectrum. Aromas of honeysuckle and a steely minerality with voluptuous edges. Think Jessica Rabbit in a crushed velvet dress. Flavors range from peaches to gooseberry and show hints of an underlying salinity with a finish of fresh picked golden raspberries from Earl's Berry Farm in Fennville, Michigan.

Aging & Drinking Suggestions: Drink now, but we suggest picking up a few more bottles to enjoy over the next three to five years.
