Date Meet at Sherry Mill Hill car park (unless stated otherwise) for a walk to… Leader(s) : This walk will take us behind Church Stretton to Hope Bowdler Hill, followed Sun 14 by a ridge walk to Cardington where we will have our packed lunch in the Oct Liz Evans churchyard. The Royal Oak are happy for us to use their facilities provided 9.00am we buy a drink. Lunch is followed by a field walk, then up before returning to Church Stretton. Further Afield & Fairways: Sat 27 Oct This is Walk 1 from our book of walks, with a little bit added on. This is a Baz Fewster 1.30pm gently undulating and scenic walk with plenty of interest. Field boundary crossings are mainly stiles or footbridges. Cars not needed. The Ash Brown Walk: Sun 11 Come along and enjoy this flat to undulating walk featuring the Brown Moss Nov nature reserve. This also serves as a Walk of Remembrance and includes the Baz Fewster 10.00am observation of the 2-minute silence. Lunch and drink stop outside The White Lion. Maiden Castle: Christine Sat 24 A dog friendly walk of around 5 miles on the Peckforton Hills including the Patterson Nov “Maiden Castle” section. Meet at the Sherry Mill car park at 1.00pm. & 1.00pm Car share to the Pool Dale National Trust car park, Bickerton, SY14 8LN (GR Alan Howe SJ503530) to start the walk at 1.30pm. Loggerheads, Staffordshire: Sun 9 Dec Malcolm At approximately 8 miles, this walk takes in Loggerheads, Blore, Hales, 10.00am Monie Bishop's & Burnt Woods. Christmas Walk & Meal: Sat 15 Dec This is our traditional festive walk followed by Christmas dinner at The Gerald Moss 10.00am Castle, Bletchley. Full details and menu to follow.

Taking in Baz Fewster 10.00am local footpaths, this walk finishes at a local hostelry for some winter warming food. Aston: Sun 13 Jan After gathering at Sherry Mill Hill car park, we will car share to The Jean White 10.00am Bhurporte at Aston. This circular 8-mile walk will then go over Paradise Bridge to Sound Oak, Wrenbury and Pinsley Green. Cuddington Loop: This is the third and final element of the Cuddington Loop, around the Malpas villages of Cuddington and Chorlton Lane. This dog-friendly walk is Sat 26 Jan Helen about 4-5 miles. The terrain is mainly flat and can be muddy in parts. 1.30pm Connolly Meet promptly at Sherry Mill Hill then car share to Jarrett’s Barn, off Mill Lane, Cuddington. Grid Ref: SJ4522147004 and postcode is SY14 7BQ (beware, SatNav is not accurate) Ironbridge Gorge (South): Sun 10 Using Way & Jack Mytton Way, via woodland, to search for the Feb site of a medieval village. Kevin Ikin 10.00am Return via Benthall Hall, Benthall Edge & Workhouse Coppice to Ironbridge. This 7-8 mile walk has some ascents and stiles en route. Local walk: Sat 23 Feb Based on one of the walks from our ever-popular 10 Varied Walks Around Liza Willis 1.30pm Whitchurch, Shropshire. Cars not needed. Paula Sun 10 Llangollen & Carrog area: Oldham & Mar Full details of this walk are to follow. Check our website for updates. Frank 10.00am Berrington Exploring Ash: Sat 30 This is a 4-5 mile walk around the Ash area, with a stop at “our” pub. After Mar Neil Moore meeting at Sherry Mill Hill, we will drive to Ash and park behind the village 1.30pm hall. Tue 26 Annual General Meeting at the Archibald Worthington Club, Whitchurch Mar The meeting will be followed by a buffet and presentation. N/A 7.30pm Doors open at 7.00pm.

NOTES:

1. The meeting point for all walks is Sherry Mill Hill car park, unless otherwise stated.

2. Saturday walks will be 5 or 6 miles, Sunday walks between 8 and 10 miles. However, both may be subject to change depending upon weather, walking conditions and unforeseen circumstances.

3. Details of walks are available from the sources below.

4. All members are expected to observe the Country Code.

5. Dogs are permitted on walks but MUST be restrained on a lead at the leader’s request and ALWAYS when in fields containing livestock.

6. In all matters relating to any walk, the leader’s decision is final.

7. Junior members are welcome, but aged fourteen and under must be accompanied by an adult.

8. Members are reminded that they are on walks entirely at their own risk.

9. On Sunday walks, bring packed lunch and – unless a pub stop is indicated – a drink.

10. Please wear suitable footwear – fields are often very muddy.

11. Please bring your car if available for all “away from home” walks.

12. The cost of transport for “away from home” walks should be shared by members at a rate of 15p per mile per car. Drivers are encouraged to accept this amount or donate to club funds.

13. Members are requested not to walk in front of the leader.

14. People with a known medical condition should be aware that group leaders may have a basic First Aid knowledge but cannot take responsibility for existing medical conditions.
