November12th-November 13th, 2016 Austrian Volkssportverband Chinese Taipei Alpine Association 2 Rotorua Walking Festival - Dates for 2016 - third weekend in March 19/20 Greetings Just a brief email to advise that the next Rotorua Walking Festival (New Zealand) will be held on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 March in 2016. Below are details of our website and the international website with other events. The local website is http://www.rotoruawalkingfestival.org.nz/;\ We have had to change our walk dates because of an international mountain bike festival (Crankworx – also held in France and Canada) which brings thousands of people into Rotorua. This will be in Rotorua from 9-13 March 2016 which puts it in direct competition to the walking festival (same weekend) for accommodation and use of the forest. We apologise for any inconvenience around the dates as we realise that some people may have already made arrangements, but in shifting the date it makes it much easier for accommodation, reduces any issues between walkers and bikers in the forest and also brings the event a little closer to the Canberra weekend of walks. Also we have a 20 year pictorial history of the Rotorua Walking Festival on YouTube. The link is here and it has been added to the IML Walking Association Website as well - click on the link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LBkt1hSuTc&feature=em The link for the pictorial history of the Rotorua Walking Festival is on our page of IML’s website - http://www.imlwalking.org/#/members/Rotorua Please contact me if there is any further information you require. Kind regards Deryck Rotorua Waking Festival Website: http://www.rotoruawalkingfestival.org.nz/ 3 Do you know what it takes to become a GLOBAL WALKER? Adjustments cannot be addressed if not known. If the complaint is not resolve or is not possible during the event weekend please follow the complaint procedure at http://www.imlwalking.org ~ Stay tuned for the next Keeping Pace - IML’s newsletter Intriguing Thoughts & Views. • IML Walking Association
IML Walking Association Dear walkers, 2020 was a very disappointing walking season for all of us and unfortunately, it does not look much better for 2021. The Coronavirus has hit our entire world and – even if vaccination has started in most areas of the globe – we cannot be certain that this situation will come to an end any time soon. Covid-19 has significantly influenced and changed our social behavior and well-being. Over the last months we have learned how fragile our global society can be and how important it is to show friendship and solidarity with the vulnerable. With this in mind, IML decided to set an example by creating a displayable symbol for togetherness: the IML solidarity medal. The medal can be combined either with country bars (for example when a national walking event has to be cancelled because of extreme weather conditions, natural disasters or for other reasons) or with the internationally available CORONA bar. All walkers wishing to openly express their solidarity through IML can acquire the solidarity medal and attachable CORONA bar. IML membership is not required. Item Available for Cost IML solidarity medal Everybody € 9.00 ($ 10.5) IML membership not required In case of an online purchase, shipping costs will be added IML Corona Bar in gold Everybody € 3.00. ($ 4.00) can be attached to IML solidarity IML membership not required In case of an online purchase, medal shipping costs will be added Country bar IML walkers who have taken part can be attached to IML solidarity in an IML walking event in that medal country at least once The solidarity medal and the Corona Bar can be ordered from the following IML organizers either online or at their next IML event.
