12 GEN EA LOGICAL RESEARCH
FOR some years a l arge proportion of the expense of the M assachusetts Society ’ s research work has been defrayed by fees for genealogical investiga - tions made in behal f of members and non members . Every such investigation adds valuable material to the Society ’ s collection “ " of data for The M ayflower Genealogies , and the person who pays for a ’ search has the adv antage not only of the Society s unequ alled accumul ation of ’ material ( much of which has been card indexed ) , but also of the Edito r s m m Old fa iliarity with the records and the fa ilies o f the Colony territo ry . All fees for investigations are added to the M assachusetts Society ’ s Colo nial Research Account , and are used exclusively in extending its work of iden tif in m m y g the descendants , in all lines , both ale and fe ale , of all the M ayflower
Passengers . Unrestricted gifts of money for research work are especially needed ; but m m gifts , or p ay ents , to be used in solving specific proble s , or in copying for publication interesting wills and inventories , conveyances of l and , etc . , relating
m m e to the ancestors of the person supplying the oney , will be of uch assistanc The Society al ready owns thousands of abstracts of wills ; deeds ; cou rt
Of m records ; town records births , arriages and deaths ; chu rch records of bap tisms m , arriages and deaths ; gravestone records ; bible records ; etc . , nowhere to be found in print . m It has also , in The M ayflower Genealogies , any lines of M ayflower descent that have never been published . All remittances should be made payable to the Society ; and communications should be add ressed to the Editor .
