It needs trained journalists to work in business newspapers, business channels and business websites. To meet this demand, the Times Group which own India’s top business media properties – The Economic Times, ET Now and Economictimes.com – has created a skill-based and industry-relevant program geared to produce the next generation of business journalists. The course work has been prepared in consultation with the Economic Times and ET Now Editors, and prepares students to work as journalists in business newspapers, business TV channels and business websites. By the end of the course, the students will be well versed in news writing, data mining and visualization, financial statement analyses, reading of budgets, review of profit and loss statements, and basics of corporate reporting. They would have learnt the art of storytelling in print, audio and video formats. They would have been exposed to the working of financial markets and institutions and would have got a sense of the fundamentals of Indian economy. 1 Year Post Graduate Diploma in Digital Media (English) and (Hindi) Digital content creators and marketers are now redefining the art of storytelling. They are tweeting breaking news; pushing notifications on mobile phones; fleshing out reports for being read on iPads, tablets and laptops; creating long form narratives of 1,500 words or more for being consumed on the web; live blogging major events; shooting and editing exciting videos on mobile phones; podcasting and creating content for social media platforms. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: COMMON TO ALL PROGRAMS. Graduation in any Discipline, subject to following (a) Candidates who are offered provisional admission will be required to produce proof of having passed the qualifying examination i.e. graduation or equivalent to the University authorities, during document inspection at the time of registration (tentative 13-14 July 2019), failing which, such provisional admission may be withdrawn. (b) Candidates whose graduation results are expected after the commencement of the Program will be required to produce their degree certificates before October 30, 2019. Failure to do so will lead to the cancellation of their admission in totto. (c) Any wrong declaration of marks /scores in the application, which provides undue advantage, if detected even after registration, shall lead to disqualification of the candidate and withdrawal of admission. ROUTES TO ADMISSION: Candidates who fulfill the above eligibility conditions, shall be admitted on the basis of the following: (a) 1 Year PGD in Business Journalism: An online/offline entrance test that will check the proficiency of students in English language and their basic business understanding.

(b) 1 Year PGD in Digital Media-English and 1Year PGD in Digital Media-Hindi : An online/offline entrance test that will check the proficiency of students in English or Hindi language as per opted program. General Instructions on conditions of Eligibility: Admission granted to a student may be revoked for noncompliance/not meeting the admission criteria/ being found ineligible, even if same is detected at a later date. All admissions will be subject to verification of facts from the original certificates/ documents of the candidates. The decision of the Admission Committee of the University regarding the eligibility of any applicant shall be final. APPLICATION PROCESS 1. How to obtain and Fill the Application Form: The students may fill the application forms on line using net banking/credit/debit card at https://applications.bennett.edu.in . 2. Cost of Form: Rs 1000/-(can be paid online or through Demand Draft) 3. Where to send. (a) The candidates must go through the admission procedure document published on the website and accept the terms and conditions by clicking on the check box at the requisite place in the online application form before applying for admission. (b) Application Status: On submission of the Application Form, the candidates shall receive a unique Application number and an e-mail acknowledging the receipt, along with further guidelines. (c) Candidates may be sent reminder mails, if required, and it will be their responsibility to view the mails and comply with the guidelines. (d) Candidates are also advised to keep a downloaded copy of Application Form. All issues regarding the Application Form, marks or data filled there in, must be resolved by the candidate with admission section of the University, before declaration of results . No appeals thereafter are acceptable. (e) Scanned copies of graduation scores (if results have been announced) must be uploaded on the online form. PROCESS FOR ADMISSION: 5. Submission of Application/Registration of candidature. Registration of candidature implies filling online application, providing the marks/scores and uploading of mark sheets as required: (a) The candidate may fill the application form without waiting for the results of graduation examinations. (b) However, it is essential for the candidate to provide the marks of graduation to the University immediately, after declaration of results, but not later than 30 Oct 2019. The marks may be (i) filled online or (ii) candidate may provide score cards to the admission office before the date mentioned in table below. Non- Compliance shall be at candidate’s risk. (c) Candidate must fill all mandatory details and submit the final application, before being considered for admission. (d) Further, the candidate has to produce the mark sheet of graduation exams at the time of document verification during registration process (tentative13-14 July but latest by 30 Oct 2019 (e) The candidates shall be required to appear in an entrance test of the University; format, and dates of which shall be announced well in advance. These tests will be conducted between End of March and June 2019, as per dates chosen by the candidates amongst the announced dates. The performance in the entrance test will form the basis of the candidate’s admission to the program.

ADMISSION OFFERS/ALLOCATION OF SEATS 6. Eligibility for Selection Process – Candidates, shall be considered for seat allocation process of respective program, only after they meet all the following criteria: (a) Those, who apply in the prescribed application form (online). (b) Those, whose applications are found valid. (c) The applications are received before the due date. (d) Those, who fulfill the eligibility criteria, The seats amongst valid applications received shall be allotted based the performance of candidates in the entrance test, till the seats are filled up in the applied program. 7. Official Communication of Seat Allotment and Fee Payment (a) The selected candidates shall be sent an email with admission offer letter. The management reserves the right to revise the fee, hostel or other charges from time to time with prior notice. Given the rigor of the programs including class room work, it is recommended that all students avail of the hostel facilities. However, University shall allow day scholars. It should be noted that students are not permitted to bring private vehicles inside the Campus. The University shall not entertain any request for extension of the deadline for submission of fee. Ragging is banned in the University. Any student indulging in ragging shall be liable for disciplinary action; including expulsion from the University. The University complies with the policy of the Government regarding reservation of SC/ST candidates as applicable for private un- aided Universities. Two seats under supernumerary quota are reserved for the eligible students from J&K.
