2015 marks the 175th anniversary of Cunard Line’s first transatlantic crossing from Liverpool to North America.

Its famous ships have been crossing between Europe and America every year since – in peace and in war. To celebrate its 175th year of service, Cunard is planning a spectacular return to its spiritual home in Liverpool. In May 2015 the Cunard fleet, led by the spectacular flagship Queen Mary 2 will meet in the Mersey for the first time. It promises to be a memorable day when another chapter in the City’s maritime history will be written. Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria will join their illustrious sister in a special salute to Liverpool. The celebrations will continue on 4 July when Queen Mary 2 returns to Liverpool Cruise Terminal at the start of a special voyage to recreate Sir Samuel Cunard’s first North Atlantic crossing to Halifax, Nova Scotia; Boston and New York.
