You are about to make a VERY important decision. You will be voting and selecting the District 12 4-H Council Officers who will lead and represent you during the upcoming year. In an effort to help you know the candidates better, a resume of each candidate is enclosed in this booklet Review all the candidates, listen to their speeches and then exercise your right to vote for the individual you feel will BEST represent your county, 4-H club and your District. EXPERIENCE District 12 4-H Council Treasurer June 2018-June • Led discussions during District Council meetings and a session on how to make 2019 dialysis pillows during Leadership Lab in June. nd June 2019- June District 12 4-H Council 2 Vice President 2020 • Was involved in the selection process of any available office positions after the 2019-2020 election and many important District Council decisions. May 2019- Cameron County 4-H Council President • June 2020 Led a Chik-Fil-A Fundraiser to raise money for the county and organized community service activities. It was a good opportunity to present our Shooting Sports power point to these adults so that they can become educated on this project that’s available for their clubs. Nov. 16, 2019 – D12 Meeting in Falfurrias & assisted with District Food Challenge & Food Show October 25, 2019 – Texas Shooting Sports Ambassador Training Camp in Brownwood, TX. • July 27, 2019 – Worked with County 4-H members to help create Dance videos for Dance Fit Curriculum • June 18, 2019 – D-12 Leadership Camp – Awarded MVP • May 8, 2019 – Attended Record Book Workshop at Hidalgo County Ext. Office – learned new skills to help club kids. • March 24, 2019 - Annual 4-H Shotgun Sports Fundraiser for Shotgun Club in Mission, TX. I volunteered at a shooting station as a score keeper while promoting 4-H while interacting with spectators & participants attending this event. • March 11-16, 2019 – RGVLS - Promoted 4-H to spectators while on duty with Market Rabbits Housekeeping in Rabbit Barn. While on duty, I promoted 4-H by speaking to visitors about my project & the many skills I have learned as a 4-H member. • August 21, 2018 - Brush County Club Officer planning meeting - Team building meeting to plan activities for the year. • August 13, 2018 - Leadership Workshop Rio Texas Conference Center McAllen, TX. Initially it is put at 57,564 but the city insists this is an undercount of 1,511 and should be put at 59,075. By July 2002 it has grown 2.6% to 59,384. The U.S. Census Bureau provides the following demographics for Harlingen at the beginning of the 21st Century: White 78.7% Black or African American 0.9% Hispanic or Latino (persons of any race who identify themselves as such) 72.8% High school graduate or higher 66.2% Bachelor's degree or higher 16.8% Speak a language other than English at home (5 years and older) 65.4% Median household income $30,296 Median value of single-family owner-occupied home $59,400 Heart of Harlingen program initiated to revitalize parts of Harlingen's original townsite, east of the downtown area. City works with the Harlingen Community Development Corp., a non-profit agency. Harlingen municipal water use for the year is 10,759 acre-feet.
