Jain, DDS Important terminology change for dentists Maple Avenue Family Dentistry Delta Dental will implement an important change in terminology in the coming months. Arthur Brown, DMD We will no longer use the term “disallow” in any document by January 1, 2020. The term Health Drive Dental Group “disallow” will be replaced by “not billable to the patient” on all documents. William Arden, DDS Please note that while the terminology will change, our disallow policies will not. This Family & Cosmetic Dentistry terminology change is a result of conversations between Delta Dental and the American Dental Association (ADA) regarding disallow policies. Delta Dental believes this new terminology provides more clarity to members and dentists, and better aligns with the New Board Members industry and the needs of dentists as expressed to Delta Dental. Delta Dental met with the ADA to discuss the basis for these policies, and the ADA Delta Dental of Rhode Island is pleased to expressed the view that the new terminology would be helpful to dentists. The Rhode Island Mission of Mercy (RIMOM) will hold its annual two-day free dental November 28 Thanksgiving Day clinic at the Delta Dental Clinic at Providence Community Health Centers on Sept. 28 & (Thursday) 29. The dental clinic is located at 335 R Prairie Avenue in Providence. November 29 Thanksgiving Friday The event provides dental care to the uninsured, underinsured and those who do not (Friday) have access to dental care. Patients undergo an initial health and dental evaluation, and are then treated on a first-come, first-served basis. Care provided includes fillings, December 25 Christmas Day extractions, x-rays, root canal treatments for front teeth, denture repair, and general (Wednesday) oral health instructions. *Customer Service open The 2018 Mission of Mercy event served more than 430 patients, providing more than 2,000 dental procedures with a combined value of more than $376,000.
