Junior Matt Shoemaker will look baseball team set out with the goal of winning the Mid-Amer- to make the move from reliever to No. 2. As a reliever ican Conference West Division and advancing to the MAC last season he collected an EMU single-season record Tournament. The Eagles posted a 32-24 record overall and a 14 saves in 34.0 innings of work. Also looking to break 21-4 mark in the conference, claiming the West Division title into the starting rotation this year will be senior Dan and in turn hosting the postseason tournament. The Green Puls, sophomore Kevin Sikora and freshmen Jordan and White advanced to the championship game, defeating Goldschmidt and Collin Taylor. Toledo, 6-5, Central Michigan, 12-6, and Northern Illinois, 9-3, before falling to Kent State University, 3-2. Calling the shots for EMU this year will be a new, yet familiar face. Former assistant Jake Boss Jr. took over the tradition rich program after 2007 MAC Coach of the Year Roger Coryell retired early in the fall. Boss, who served as an EMU assistant from 1997-2004, spent the previous three seasons as an assistant with the University of Michi- gan. The Eagles face an uphill battle after seeing four play- ers depart to the next level.
