No updated list of alumni is available for the past 30 years. Therefore the IQAC has taken up this compilation. It is hoped that this compilation will serve multiple purposes: i. To enable the University’s stake holders to reflect on the quality of the graduates of the University ii. To enable the University to tap the goodwill and support of the alumni for its development iii. To motivate incoming students by presenting role models before them. It may be noted that during the period of 1937 to 1957, the University College, Trivandrum, the College of Engineering, Trivandrum, Women’s College , Trivandrum etc were directly under the University of Travancore and its teachers were employees of the University. During this period, Dr. K.R. Narayanan, former President of India and erudite scholar was a student and subsequently lecturer in the University. However, this compilation has recorded only the past student of the Depts. that exist presently under the University of Kerala. A compilation of the 20 year period is planned to be produced as a separate compilation. If the broader canvas of all affiliated colleges is considered, the alumni size will run to lakhs. Eventhough all degree holders of University of Kerala are equal members of the University family, their nostalgic campus memories are more attached to their respective college campuses. The data has been provided by various Heads of Departments and past faculty members. Occasional publications of the University and public domain sources have also been relied on. The compilation is not claimed to be comprehensive and cent percent accurate. Editor: Director, IQAC Front cover: 1. Dr Puthusseri Ramachandran, 2. Dr K. Ayyappa Panicker, 3. Dr. Syed Ibrahim, 4.
