From the airport follow R71 in the direction of Gravelotte and Tzaneen. After 8km, turn left on R40 to Mica and Marulaneng
(Hoedspruit). Keep on R40 through Mica to Marulaneng (Hoedspruit) for 67km. On entering Marulaneng (Hoedspruit), do not
turn right over bridge into the town proper. Proceed through the intersection for 7km and turn left into the Timbavati Road also
sign posted to Eastgate Airport (your mobile phone is unlikely to have a signal from here). You will be required to stop at the
entrance to the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, where you will pay R150 toll for your vehicle. You are now in the Greater
Kruger National Park! Motswari is 43km from the gate. Timbavati Conservation Levy of R215 per person is now collected at
Motswari on your departure. Although the road is now tarred, drive carefully (50km/h speed limit) and expect to see wild
animals. Stay in your vehicle! 1km after passing Ingwelala Share Block on your right (large thatched entrance), look out for the
Motswari sign also on the right. Turn right and follow the Motswari signs for the remaining 4km. You will be met at Motswari
Game Lodge and transferred to Geiger’s Camp.
Durban To Motswari Private Game Reserve
Follow the N2 north from Durban through Empangeni, Mtubatuba, Pongola and Piet Retief to Ermelo. R36 to Carolina
R33 to eMakahazeni (Belfast). R540 through mBombela (Dullstroom) to Mashisheng (Lydenburg). R36 to Ohrigstad. R527 to
Marulaneng (Hoedspruit). Drive through Marulaneng (Hoedspruit) and turn right at the 4 way stop over the bridge onto the
R40. After 7km, turn left into the Timbavati Road (your mobile phone is unlikely to have a signal from here). You will be required
to stop at the entrance to the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, where you will pay R150 toll for your vehicle. You are now in

R40, onto Timbavati Road following signs to Eastgate Airport (your mobile phone is unlikely to have a signal from here). Drive
past the Airport and continue on this road until it turns into the gate to the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve. You will be
required to stop at the entrance to the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, where you will pay R150 toll for your vehicle. Please
switch off any GPS you may be using. You are now in the Greater Kruger National Park! Motswari is about 43km from the gate
and the journey takes about an hour. Although the road is now tarred, drive carefully (50km/h speed limit) and expect to see
wild animals. Stay on the main tar road until you cross a small bridge and drive past the entrance to Ingwelala. After 800m you
will see a turnoff on your right with a big Motswari sign. Turn right and follow the Motswari signs for the remaining 4km on the
dirt road. You will be met at Motswari Game Lodge and transferred to Geiger’s Camp.
From the Kruger Mpumalanga airport (KMIA)
Turn right onto R538 to Plaston and White River. Turn left at Plaston towards Mbombela (Nelspruit). Turn right onto the R40
towards White River. Then proceed along the R40 through White River, Hazyview, Bushbuck Ridge and Acornhoek towards
Marulaneng (Hoedspruit). The road will take a sharp turn to the right just before the village of Klaserie. 7km before Marulaneng
(Hoedspruit) turn right into the Timbavati Road also signposted to Eastgate Airport (your mobile phone is unlikely to have a
signal from here). You will be required to stop at the entrance to the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, where you will pay R150
toll for your vehicle (please contact us for prices levied on heavy vehicles and trailers if required). You are now in the Greater
Kruger National Park! Motswari is 43km from the gate. Although the road is now tarred, drive carefully (50kph speed limit) and
expect to see wild animals. Stay in your vehicle! 1km after passing Ingwelala on your right (large thatched entrance), look out
for the Motswari sign. Turn right and follow the Motswari signs for the remaining 4km. You will be met at Motswari Game Lodge

From Johannesburg travel east on the N12 which leads past Benoni, eMahlaleni (Witbank) and Middelburg. Follow the signs
and turnoff at eMakhazeni (Belfast). Turn right on R540 road through eMnotweni (Dullstroom), following signs onwards through
Mashishing (Lydenburg) and Ohrigstad. Proceed on the R36 over the Abel Erasmus Pass to Marulaneng (Hoedspruit) (signs
read Tzaneen en route). You will enter Marulaneng (Hoedspruit) on the R527. In Marulaneng (Hoedspruit) proceed through
the 4-way stop and go over the small bridge. At the intersection turn right onto the R40 towards White River. Continue for 7km
and then turn left at the Eastgate Airport sign onto the Timbavati Road (your mobile phone is unlikely to have a signal from
here). You will be required to stop at the entrance to the Timbavati Private Game Reserve gate, where you will pay R150 toll
