In reading this guide, I am proud of the new and traditional opportunities offered by the City’s Parks and Recreation Department for residents to partake in healthy activities, to build new skills, to cultivate relationships, and to simply take time to enjoy all the great things Yuma has to offer. Take a look and feel free to call us with any questions. Whether you choose to participate in activities you are familiar with and love, or decide to venture into a completely new class—our City staff strives to make each program a great one to enroll in, and to make Yuma a great city to live in or visit. Staff Adaptive Recreation . .15 has put together a great line-up of educational classes, sports camps, swim lessons, day camps, social activities, Tiny Tot Activities . .16 art programs, and family fun special events for all ages. From Camp Awesome and Art Smart Camp to archery, Youth Activities . 17 kayaking, arts & crafts for youth and adults, golf clinics, and more, there really is so much to experience this summer! Youth Sports . 21 One of the things that I want to highlight this summer, is a partnership with Teen & Tween Activities . 24 Prison Hill Brewery & the Atticus Kindness Project. These organizations have raised funds and joined forces with Parks and Recreation in an effort to help Yuma families learn to recognize and actively follow safe water practices Outdoor Recreation . 25 through water safety instruction.
