Mountain Monasteries 15 & Trek days

This tour offers a wonderful combination of walks around the ancient cities of , Patan, Bhaktapur & Nagarkote, and a 6-night trek to Namche Bazaar. After a short flight from Kathmandu to , the trek begins through the trails that wind slowly downwards to touch the Dudhkoshi River passing through fragrant forests. Namche Bazaar, the largest of Sherpa settlements is right after the walk along a steep uphill trail. Thyangboche, the Buddhist monastery is further above after a long climb. Enjoy awe-inspiring views of Mt. Everest (8,850m). Lhotse (8,516m), Nuptse (7,855m), Ama Dablam (6,812m) and Cho-Oyu (8,201m).

Day 1 - Arrival in Kathmandu. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel for a 3 nights stay.

Day 2 - Kathmandu. Morning, walking tour of old Kathmandu city Day 9 - Namche Bazaar to Thyangboche, (3,870m), 5 hrs trek. Dudh following the old path across Vishnumati River to Swayambhunath. Koshi River then reaches to Phunki thenga for lunch. After lunch the Afternoon, visit the tow-tiered golden temple of Pashupatinath, the train steeply ascends toward Thyangboche (6,959 m). Overnight at holiest of Hindus temple and Bodhnath, the largest Buddhist Stupa. camp. (B,L,D) (B) Day 10 - Thyangboche. Day at leisure to view the mountains. (8,848 m), Day 3 - Kathmandu. Full day visit of Patan and Bhaktapur, the two Lhotse (8,516 m), Nuptse (7,879m), Ama Dablam (6,856 m), Kang ancient capital of with their royal Durbar Squares. (B) Tenga (6,685 m), Thamserku (6,608 m), Kwangde (6,187 m), Choloste (6,440 m), Tawoche (6,542 m), Numbur (6,959 m), Kahantang (6,853m) Day 4 - Kathmandu to Nagarkote, (2,100m) 32 Km/1hr. Drive to and look around the Monastery. Overnight at camp. (B,L,D) Nagarkote, set on a ridge above Kathmandu with a panoramic view of the great Himalayan peaks including Annapurna, Fishtail, Everest and Day 11 - Thyangboche to (2,805m), 5 hrs trek. Descending Kanchendzonga. (B) today. Take the direct route to Namche Bazaar and then to Jorsale. From Namche it is a steep descent to Jorsale. Overnight at camp. Day 5 - Nagarkote. Local walks in the Nagarkote area. (B) (B,L,D)

Day 6 - Nagarkote to Kathmandu (Banepa). Walk to Banepa a Day 12 - Jorsale to Lukla (2,830m) 7 hrs trek. The trail from Jorsale historical town on the way to and drive to Kathmandu. (B) runs upward as far as Chablung, then turns off to the village of Chaunrikaka. Here we will spend your last night under canvas. Day 7 - Kathmandu to Lukla, by air, 4 hrs trek. Transfer to Overnight at camp. (B,L,D) Kathmandu airport for 50-minute flight to Lukla (2,652 m). Upon arrival your guide and porter will meet you.
