SP1215 Polyclonal Antibody to A - Serum

Alternate names: Alpha-, Beta-neoendorphin, Beta-neoendorphin-dynorphin, Big dynorphin, , Leu-, , PENKB, Preprodynorphin, , -B, Rimorphin Quantity: 0.1 ml Background: Dynorphin is a class of produced by many different populations of neurons, which has some like activity. It is thus classed as an endogenous . The , which include dynorphin A, , alpha- and beta- neoendorphin, and big dynorphin, are all the products of a single gene, 'preprodynorphin'. Dynorphin is produced in many different parts of the brain, including the hypothalamus, the hippocampus and the spinal cord, and has many different physiological actions, depending upon its site of production. Dynorphin is involved in modulating responses to several psychoactive substances, including cocaine. As such, it may help some individuals against addiction. Blocking dynorphin may help alleviate depression. Uniprot ID: P01213 NCBI: 9606 GeneID: 5173 Host: Rabbit Immunogen: Dynorphin A 1-17 AA Sequence: Tyr-Gly-Gly-Phe-Leu-Arg-Arg-Ile-Arg-Pro-Lys-Leu-Lys-Trp-Asp-Asn-Gln

Format: State: Liquid serum Buffer System: PBS containing 0.09% Sodium Azide and 0.1% Bovine Serum Albumin Applications: Radioimmunoassays: 1/10,000. Immunohistochemistry on frozen sections: 1/100 - 1/1500. Immunohistochemistry on paraffin sections: This product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections; Sodium citrate buffer pH6.0 is recommended for this purpose; overnight incubation is recommended for paraffin sections. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user. Specificity: This antibody blocks with dynorphin 1-17 and 1-8 but not with other related peptides. Cells are found in the paraventricular and supraoptic nucleus and fibers are found in the lateral hypothalamus in rat brain of 4% FA perfused colchicine tissue. Species: Human, Rhesus Monkey, Pig, Rat. Other species not tested.
