Respondent: The Assistant Executive Engineer Electrical Sub Division, Kallambalam. ORDER 1. Grievance of the petitioner is as follows. The petitioner is a consumer under Electrical Section, Palachira with Consumer No.13243. The petitioner is aggrieved by a short assessment bill of Rs.889/- on 17/3/2016. The petitioner stated that he has been remitting the electricity bill without fail. Hence the impugned bill issued to him is illegal and hence it is to be cancelled. 2. The opposite party filed a version as follows. The consumer No. 13243 is registered in the name of Sri. Vikraman, Kunnil Veedu, Cherunniyoor is a domestic connection. The energy meter installed in the premises was found sluggish from 7/2015 and found faulty in 11/2015. Hence average 200 unit based on the average consumption prior to the meter faulty period was given to the month of 1/2016 and 3/2016. The respondent contented that a deep dip in consumption was noticed from 7/2015 to 11/2015 compared to the previous consumption. Hence short assessment bill was issued to the consumer for the period from - 3 –

7/2015 to 11/2015 based on the average consumption prior to meter faulty period. Hence the short assessment bill of Rs.889/- was issued to the consumer on 17/3/2015. The faulty meter was changed on 2/4/2016. The respondent also stated that the petitioner remitted the short assessment bill on 5/04/2016 and hence the matter was settled. 3. This case was posted for hearing on 12/05/2016 and 27/5/2016. The petitioner was absent in both hearing and the respondent was present for the hearing. 4. As the matter has been settled and the petitioner has no grievance at present forum decided to close the petition. The petition is closed. No order as to cost. If the petitioner is not satisfied with the above order of this Forum, he is at liberty to prefer appeal before the Electricity Ombudsman within 30 days from the date of receipt of this order.
