Two territories of similar extension and with historical coincidences in their development have been selected: the Okanagan Valley, Canada, and the region of Somontano, Spain. Methodologically, an analysis of the content on Twitter has been performed, collecting 1377 tweets. The conclusion is that wineries create sentimental and experiential links with the users, avoiding commercial communications. Specifically, Okanagan wineries establish a relevant conversation network on Twitter based on the high percentage of responses, which is 31.3%, but this is not so in the case of Somontano, which is 12.8%. The tourist attractions most used to create a bond are the wine landscape and the gastronomy in the case of both territories. The tourism sustainability variable remains a minor matter in the emission of messages on Twitter. Keywords: social network analysis; sustainable tourism; web 2.0; enotourism; Twitter; Somontano wines; Okanagan Valley wines; wines of British Columbia 1.

    Paris and Normandy River Cruise

Paris and Normandy River Cruise Through the Eyes of a Woman! April 22 - May 2, 2019 WO MEN OF N EBRASKA Travel Solo Tog ether Dear Women of Nebraska, Join me on a once-in-a-lifetime journey to Northern France! Join our exceptional Paris-Normandy river cruise on board the deluxe AmaLyra of AmaWaterways along the Seine River and through the heart of Normandy. With a capacity of 74 outside staterooms only, this cruise gives us the private feeling we are looking for. Our 11-day tour begins in Paris, the City of Light, with its iconic landmarks, aristocratic lifestyle, romantic ardor, architectural splendor, animated sidewalk cafes and, world-class fashion and shopping. Ahead of us awaits Monet’s Gardens in Giverny and Rouen’s Cathedral of Notre Dame. The charming harbor town of Honfleur will inspire you the same way as they inspired the great Impressionists. We will get to see some of these very same places and landmarks that the Impressionist Masters captured on canvas at the Musée d’Orsay, during our stay in Paris. For an inspiration of a different kind, we travel the “Routes des Abbayes” (Route of the Historic Norman Abbeys), visiting some of the most magnificent monasteries, and to the unforgettable beaches of Normandy where Allied forces landed during WWII’s D-Day invasion. We reflect on Journal Star Destinations the “longest day” and honor the sacrifices made in changing history not once, but twice. We will relive the grandeur of royalty at Château Malmaison, the former home of Napoleon and Josephine Bonaparte, and at Chateau de Bizy, once referred to as “the Versailles of Normandy.” Blend a passion for the good life with culture, art, architecture and timeless landscapes, and you have Northern France! Come, join me! Solo or two-by-two! Sincerely, Sally Dunham Ambassador, Women of Nebraska Call Executive Travel’s Group Department today at 402-435-8888.

  • Enjoying Sherry

    Enjoying Sherry

Enjoying Sherry Sherry in a bottle As any other wine, Sherry wines can evolve inside the bottle, and therefore shall be consumed within a reasonable length of time after bottling, if we want to enjoy its original characteristics. style of Sherry sealed bottle open bottle !! fino / manzanilla up to a year one week (*) !! other sherries (oxidative ageing up to 3 years 2 months and blends) !! VOS / VORS indetermined 3 months (*) kept in the fridge, properly closed. How to store the bottles? !! As with any other quality wine, find a quiet place, with a stable temperature, away from strong light and vibrations. !! Keep the bottles standing up, so that the surface in contact with the air inside the bottle is reduced to a minimum. !! Once unsealed, keep the bottles properly closed, and if there is not much left in the bottle... ...find a good excuse to finish it! What kind of glasses for Sherry? !! The traditional big “catavinos” is the ideal glass for drinking Sherry (1). !! An all purpose white wine glass with a proper bowl (in order to allow the wine to breathe) and a stem (to avoid warming up) would also allow us to enjoy Sherry. !! NEVER use a small glass. Size should allow filling up one third with a decent quantity (forget about the so-called “copita”). (1) Approx. 200 ml. 1/3 Serving temperatures There are no estrict serving rules, as the ideal temperatures would depend on the specific food-parings and the consumer´s likes. However, here are some general recommendations: ecommended temperatures !! fino & manzanilla. Always very cold, between 5 - 7 ºC.

ZUDUGARAI Txakoli 2019 Bodega Zudugarai: The Errasti family has been growing grapes for up to 50 years and over 3 generations. Before being recognized as a DO the family sold the grapes locally. In 1989 when Getariako Txakolina received its D.O. status, the Errasti family changed their strategy and started making wine using their estate grapes. The family directly controls every process, from the selection of the grapes, to the cellar’s storage, and are focused on safeguarding this unique indigenous product. New techniques and formulas are gradually being introduced to the vinicultural process to reveal more of the characteristics of their Txakoli. This does not mean they wish to make a wine that is different from the traditional Txakoli, they are merely seeking to improve upon it. Tasting notes: White fruit aromas with fine herbs and a salty sea breeze. Fresh and energetic as soon as it hits the lips. Long and balanced mouthfeel with the aromatic intensity revealing itself along with sweet citrus fruits of lemon and lime. Winemaker: Mikel Errasti and Patxi Errasti Appellation: DO Getariako Txakolina Grapes: 100% Hondurrabi Zuri Soil: Clay covered by a layer of sandy soil Elevation: 2.952 ft Vineyard practice: Integrated viticulture, a model of sustainability using agrochemical products that are compatible with the environment for the control of pests and disease to produce wine in a natural and respectful way.
