2019 ANNUAL REPORT A LETTER FROM CEO & BOARD PRESIDENT

Dear Friends,

As the holidays are now a memory, we take this time of year to express our gratitude to our many supporters to share our past accomplishments and our outlook for the future.

The staff and board of directors have been busy this past year working towards expanding and growing Harbor House for future generations. As of result of our efforts we are happy to report the following:

Increase in transportation of Harbor House participants to and from Harbor House on a daily basis, now 50% of participants enjoy coming to and from Harbor House on one of our vans. The enrollment in the ADT Program at Harbor House is at an all-time high of over 100 participants. Our Home Sweet Home program allows our participants employment opportunities in the community. Currently employing ten participants. The Board of Directors successfully hosted an Open House at Harbor House on October 17. Approximately 100 people walked through the halls of Harbor House and met many of our participants. Our Respite services are expanding with the purchase of our second Respite House this year. The second Respite House is located next door to our current Respite House allowing us to continue to provide this much needed service to the participants and families of Harbor House. This past year we have enjoyed many new partnerships including Teddy Abrams and the Louisville Orchestra, cooking classes with U of K Extension Services, Parklands at Floyds Fork, Berrytown, Jecorey “1200” rapper and intergenerational Paint ‘N Sip parties, just to name a few. Harbor House has received approval from the Office of the Inspector General to be a provider for individuals served under the HCBS waiver. This will allow more individuals to experience the love and support of Harbor House. In April, our Ken-Ducky Derby was back on the water as we dropped 46,000 ducks into the Ohio River from a trailer suspended from a 20’ crane.

All of this growth would not be possible without the dedication of our staff and board of directors. Our staff have a combined 155 years of service with a second staff member celebrating 20+ years at Harbor House!

After 27 years, we are not ready to slow down! In 2020, the Louisville Coopers will run in the Derby Festival Marathon and Mini Marathon in support of Harbor House. Our second Respite House will be operational by early Spring of 2020. Transportation will be growing with five new vehicles being added in 2020 through funding made possible through TARC 5310 Federal Grant and several other foundations. Stay tuned for a major announcement coming in 2020!

We could not be where we are today without the dedicated staff, board of directors, participants' families and volunteers who help us every day provide love and support to all of our participants. We are so grateful for all of our supporters who continue to make a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities.

THANK YOU from all of us at Harbor House!

Thank you to our Event Sponsor: KEN-DUCKY DERBY

Harbor House's signature fundraising event is the Ken-Ducky Derby, an official event of the Kentucky Derby Festival. The 16th annual Ken-Ducky Derby was a record breaking year with 46,000 ducks raced.

100% of funds raised from duck adoptions go directly towards programming for the Harbor House participants.

Don't miss the 17th annual Ken-Ducky Derby in late August 2020! It's sure to be another record breaking year. APPRECIATION DINNER

We changed things up last year, switching our annual appreciation dinner from a Christmas to a Thanksgiving themed event. Thanksgiving seemed like the perfect time to show our appreciation for all of our donors, sponsors, volunteers, staff, participants and their families.
