A Note from Fr. Jeff Horejsi ….The August Bash this Friday evening at the Civic Arena Parking Lot in Litchfield is a fund raiser for kids in our community. Some of the funds will benefit the School of St. Philip. Enjoy one of the Knights of Columbus burgers. Twine Ball Day in Darwin on Saturday offers the St. John’s Youth Food Stand in the park 11-3. Some generous parishioners have provided several copies of Bishop Robert Barron’s Letter to a Suffering Church: A Bishop Speaks On The Sexual Abuse Crisis. Please feel free to take a copy, and when finished consider returning it for another to read.

St. John’S Fall FeStival Sunday, September 15th 11 am – 2:30 pm Education Center Meeting for Committee Chairs - A meeting for all committee chairs will be held on Wednesday, August 7th at 7pm in the Education Center. We will be discussing duties, location of the various activities, and will answer questions you may have. The co-chairs will reach out to those who cannot make it afterwards. Volunteer Sign-ups - Sign-ups will be held in the back entrance before and after mass on the weekends of August 10-11 and 17-18. This is an excellent opportunity for youth to share your time and talent. We need volunteers to help make the Fall Festival a success! Raffle Tickets- Raffle tickets are ready for pick up in the back entrance. If you are able to sell more than what was in your envelope, please contact the parish office. The top cash prize is $500, and the total amount of cash prizes is $1500. Please sell as many as you can! It would be most helpful if you would turn in your ticket stubs and money at your earliest convenience, or at least by Sunday, September 8th. Please put them in the collection basket, drop them off at the parish office, or mail them back in the enclosed envelope.

St. Philip’s BAZAAR & CAR SHOW NEWS Sunday, September 8th 10:00am - 3:00pm At The Church of St. Philip parish We are moving the Bazaar from the Fairgrounds to the Church grounds. We hope that everyone will be able to join us. We will be having the Knights of Columbus grilling their delicious burgers, Pie & Ice Cream, Root beer Floats, wheel of prize, BINGO, Farmers Market, kids games with many new games added this year (9 square in the air, gaga ball, bean bags) and entertainment by Butch Borowicz. We will be having activities inside and outside on the church grounds. Don’t forget about the raffle and a chance to win $2000.
