Better than most, 10 Back to School for Patrickswell’s All Ireland stars Limerick followers have learnt an indisputable truth - nothing 12 The Green & White Shield beats success. Silverware….. that’s what all supporters want 13 The Primary Game and dream of. For Limerick, the dream came true in 2015 14 as Diarmaid Byrnes led Limerick to a fifth All Ireland Under East Limerick Schools 21 hurling title on a never-to-be forgotten night in Semple 16 South Limerick Schools Stadium. Months of hard work paid off as John Kiely’s 18 The Leader Cup charges brushed aside the challenge of a highly-rated 20 West Limerick Schools Wexford team to bring home the Cross of Cashel trophy. 22 Limerick City Schools Victories over Tipperary, Clare and Galway saw Limerick 24 The Lundon Eye progress to an All-Ireland final. Today is a very important game for both teams but Kerry in particular will be hoping to pull off a win at home. Given the long lay off and the compressed nature of this year’s competition, it is difficult to predict how the league will unfold for Counties this year. The condensed nature of the League will I believe prove very challenging for all Counties in the prevention and management of injuries which will be a key consideration.

It is fair to say that there have been several moments when it looked as if we would not be here in this position. In many ways the world we knew and took for granted last March seems a lot longer than seven months ago. So much has been lost, and more important than the freedoms and privileges we so badly miss are the lost lives of the more than 2,500 Irish people all over the island who passed away at the hands of the coronavirus and left a void in the lives of the loved ones who mourn them. As we return to inter-county action the perils of the world we find ourselves in still exist.
