The Hoyas went undefeated in league play at 9-0-0 and are the No. 1 seed for the BIG EAST Championship. Creighton is the No. 2 seed. • Butler locked up the No. 3 seed with a 3-0 win over 25th-ranked Xavier. The Musketeers are the No. 4 and DePaul and Providence won their BIG EAST CHAMPIONSHIP ways into the Championship field at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively. Providence at Butler - First Round • Georgetown won the BIG EAST regular season title for the fifth time in program history with the last coming in 2013 and the last outright Sunday, Nov. 8 at 1 p.m. (Butler Bowl) championship coming during the 2010 campaign. It is the fourth under Hoya head coach Brian Wiese. The last time a team went a perfect PXP: Mark Minner | Analyst: Tim Regan 9-0-0 during the BIG EAST Regular Season was the University of Louisville in 2009. • The BIG EAST Championship will be held at the campus sites for the whole tournament. Sunday’s first round action kicks off with No. 3 Butler DePaul at Xavier - First Round Sunday, Nov. 8 at 4 p.m. (XU Soccer Complex) hosting No. 6 Providence at the Butler Bowl, and No. 4 Xavier welcoming No. 5 DePaul to the XU Soccer Complex. The winners of those match PXP: Mike Schmaltz | Analyst: Erik Alanson ups will travel to Georgetown and Creighton, the top two seeds in the Championship, for the semifinals. The location for the Championship final is up for grabs as it will be at the higher seed’s home pitch. TBD at Georgetown - Semifinals • Butler makes its second BIG EAST Championship appearance after missing in 2014. The Bulldogs advanced to the Semifinals in 2013. Thursday, Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. (Shaw Field) PXP: Dan Helfrich | Analyst: Tom Greaser The Bulldogs’ opponent, Providence, is making its 16th trip to the league’s postseason tournament. The Friars return to the BIG EAST BEDN Correspondent: Kim Adams Championship field as the defending champions, having won the tournament title last season as the No. 4 seed, upsetting No. 1 Creighton. The Friars have a long history in the tournament, with their first appearance in 1983. Providence is 14-12-5 (.532) all-time in the BIG EAST Xavier at Butler Championship with three runner-up finishes in addition to last year’s title, their first. TBD at Creighton - Semifinals • Xavier is making its third straight BIG EAST Championship appearance after finishing as last year’s runner up. The Musketeers have made the Championship every year they have been in the league and post a 1-2-0 record (.333). DePaul travels to Cincinnati as the No. 5 seed in the championship after winning the tie-breaker against Providence with their previous win over Butler. DePaul is making its seventh trip to the league tournament, with its first appearance in 2006. The Blue Demons made it to the Championship for five-straight years, but have not made it since 2011. DePaul is 3-5-2 (.400) in the BIG EAST tournament. The 2015 fall schedule features 99 total contests, including a combined 85 regular-season men’s soccer, women’s soccer and volleyball matches, along with 14 BIG EAST Championship events.
