Music and the training of young people mean a lot to me, and I am delighted to see them here at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel. Aldeburgh August 11-18, 2013 Participants: Kinga Borowska, mezzo-soprano and Charles Dekeyser, bass Die Schone Mullerin and other songs of 1823 -6 Britten and Pears were internationally renowned for their insightful duo performances of Schubert Lieder, many of which were given here at the Aldeburgh Festival. Inheriting that mantle, Christoph Pregardien and Malcolm Martineau bring unrivalled depth of experience to this repertoire. In this intensive class we explore the extraordinary period between 1823-6 which included the first of Schubert’s great song cycles, Die Schone Mullerin and songs like Die Yunge Nonne. Established Lieder duos in all voices should apply – we may also be able to accept ap- plications from individual singers and pianists.

Riga September 30 - October 06, 2013 Voice and stage movement with Inga Kalna Workshop for young singers focusing on vocal technique, interpretation and language with experienced singer and coach Inga Kalna.
