Letters received will be reviewed at next regular meeting to possibly fill vacancy. Basic Marina Information The marina is very limited on longer size slips. If you are going to buy a boat that is over 19 feet long, PLEASE, call the Dock master to see if we have a slip available. The Dock master has had to disappoint several people by telling them we had no place for them to dock their new boat. Boats will only be rented slips that they fit in. For instance, if you have a boat that fits in a 28 foot slip, you will not be able to rent a 30ft slip, if your boat fits in a 22ft slip, you will not able to rent a 26ft slip. The larger slips are for larger boats. Boats are measured from the farthest thing that sticks out on the bow, to the motor in full tilt. We do not measure your boat by what it says on the registration. If you are buying a party boat, deck boat or pontoon boat, please watch the size of the beam (width) of the boat you buy. These newer, wider, boats have a hard time fitting in many of the slips without touching the sides of the decking. Please buy a boat that will give you room, on each side, to adjust with the ebb and flow of the tide. The Dock master is a volunteer who lives here in TE. This volunteer position helps to keep the marina costs down. The Dock master DOES NOT get any benefits from being the Dock master other than the satisfaction of helping the community. The Dock master pays the same marina fees as you pay. Paula works full time, 12 hour shifts. She is usually available 2-4 days a week depending on her schedule. Her voice mail is frequently updated and will tell you the soonest she can meet, if she does not answer. Please do not call the office, they cannot change Paula’s work schedule nor can they rent you a slip. Please be patient. Paula’s number is 941-545-4255. May 2021 - Trailer Estates Tribune - Page 7 Page 8 - Trailer Estates Tribune - May 2021 CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS CERT (COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM) A 501 (C) 3 Organization We are “Neighbors helping Neighbors” www.cert-te.org Our Website has been updated and has a lot of useful informa- tion. The web address is www.CERT-TE.org. For anyone desiring to join CERT, we are scheduling classes (3- hour blocks) for new applicants weekly in May and early June. The course work takes 24 hours to complete and consists of learning about the organization, learning self-care in an emergency, learn- ing what CERT members can and cannot do, and skills training for hands on duties in an emergency situation, such as first aid, fire safety among other things This education benefits you personally whether or not you are active in CERT. The training is sponsored by Manatee County, who sponsors all Manatee County CERT teams. The training is free. CERT is working cooperatively with the TE Fire Department to assist them and coordinate services in the event of an emergency. In a hurricane event, we probably will lose cell phone and land line service. Calling 911 will not be an option. Our HAM operators communicate directly to the Emergency Opera- tions Center of Manatee County via the radios and can get help when needed. Another HAM Radio license preparation class will be offered in the fall. Year around residents who choose not to evacuate during a hurricane are at risk of bodily injury or worse if the hurricane makes a direct hit on our District. One of our members found a sample of a VERY loud whistle that could be used by an individual need- ing assistance in an emergency. It is like a whistle a referee uses during a sporting event. It would be a good thing to add to your emergency supplies if remaining in your residence. The name of the Company is “All Weather Safety Whistle Co.” The cost is around $10.00. If you have a pet that you need to place temporarily during a disaster, we can help. There are volunteers in Bayshore Gardens, our next-door neighborhood, who will take care of your pet if you need to go to a shelter. Contact any CERT member, who will put you together with a volunteer now, so that you can meet and the volunteer can meet your pet. If and when you need to leave your pet with the volunteer, you will not have to worry about the care and safety of your pet.

May 2021 - Trailer Estates Tribune - Page 9 Page 10 - Trailer Estates Tribune - May 2021 CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS Computer Club of TE The Computer Club of TE will not hold membership or group training May – November. Our meetings will resume December 8, 2021 in the Small Hall. We are a member-to-member club serv- ing residents and owners in TE. Throughout the summer (May – November), you can still join the club and can still receive tech support. Membership dues remain at $5. To join the Club, please go to our web page (www.ccofte.com), download the form, save and email to computerclubte@gmail. com. Contact us for any club-related questions or to request tech support – phone number 941-281-5648 or email us at computer- [email protected] and we will arrange for one of our tech support volunteers to meet with you. Watch for updates on the bulletin board near the post office as well as on Channel 732. Dottie Deerwester, Club President TEFCD Trailer Estates Fire Control District (TEFCD) currently has a vacant Commissioner seat. Interested residents (must be property owner and qualified elector) need to submit their letter of interest to TEF- CD at P.O. Box 5182 or email to [email protected]. Letters received will be reviewed at next regular meeting to possibly fill vacancy. Hobby Club Well, most of you have left for your long drive home. We hope this year we can have a Bazaar starting in December. It would be good to see all of you again. Have a great summer, read lots of books you can donate to the club for our Valentines 85+ luncheon. We do appreciate all your help. Till we meet again, God go with you. Share-A-Craft This has been a most unusual season and one I hope we never have to repeat! But even with the smaller numbers of members (we have REALLY missed our Canadian friends) Share-A-Craft members have been busy. On Tuesday mornings we met to make cozies, scrubbies, cards and a few new items that we will be selling at our December Bazaar. The Quilters have been meeting on Wednesday to plan their next quilt. We will be selling raffle tickets for the quilt starting in January. On Thursday the Stitchery group has been meeting and have completed a baby afghan, a baby quilt, two mesh wreaths, cro- cheted a plarn tote, hooking a rug/wall hanging and completing necklace, bracelet and earring sets. Next season our newest member has volunteered to teach our members to latch hook a wall hanging. We would encourage you to join Share-A-Craft and attend one or all of our sessions. Hopefully next year we will be able have our meetings on the first Tuesday of each month, starting with the November 2nd meeting. And the first Bazaar is tentatively scheduled to be held on Saturday, December 4th. Our Christmas Luncheon is planned for December 7th, to be followed by meetings on January 4th, February 1st, March 1st (our farewell pot luck at the Beach Pavilion), and our final meeting on April 5th. Watch the Tribune and Channel 732 for start dates for Workshop, Quilting and Stitchery. Have a safe trip North and a fun filled but safe summer. See you all in the fall.

May 2021 - Trailer Estates Tribune - Page 23 Trailer Estates Park and Recreation District Use Of Facilities: Refuse/Dumpster Policy pp 45 Trailer Estates Park and Recreation District provides for the regular pickup of household garbage, excluding yard waste. Check the District bulletin boards for the current day and time schedule.

The intent of the dumpsters are to provide residents the ability to dispose of household solid waste such as furniture, small self-completed interior/exterior construction jobs, and other solid waste items. Dumpsters are available for the exclusive use of Trailer Estates Park and Recreation District residents. Outside contractors doing work for TE residents are not allowed to use dumpsters. Tree trimming and yard maintenance is exempt from this policy. Separate dumpsters for solid waste, yard waste, and comingled recycling are located in the trailer storage yard. Gates are locked and are accessible using your facilities’ fob.

Outside contractors, including the various contractors located within TE, hired to renovate a resident’s home must provide their own private dumpster. The contractor’s dumpster must be placed at the job site, so it does not block road traffic. Renovations to resident’s home also include pavers, concrete removal and heavy debris. Residents who are not physically located in TE during the time of renovation must provide the Maintenance Foremen with a letter identifying the contractor and authorizing the placement of a dumpster to conduct the renovations.

It is a violation of District rule for persons to do the following actions: 1) placing items in a dumpster that has been identified as being filled to capacity or marked with a sign stating “No More Dumping Today” 2) placing items in a dumpster that exceed the height of the dumpster 3) placing items in the incorrected dumpster (i.e. solid waste in the yard waste dumpster, placing solid waste in the recycling dumpster) 4) placing solid waste, yard waste, plastic bags, Styrofoam or glass other than bottles/jars in the recycling 5) placing items on the grounds around or outside of the dumpster area 6) placing of appliances (e.g. refrigerators ovens, air conditioning units) or electronics (e.g. televisions, computers) in the dumpsters or on the grounds around or outside of the dumpster area 7) placing hazardous materials (including flammables, oils, batteries, chemicals, etc.) in the dump- sters or on the grounds around or outside of the dumpster area 8) allowing a contractor, including tree trimers, paver installers and renovators access to a dumpster.

The dumpster area is under video surveillance. Offenders face the actual cost for alleviating such issues plus an administrative fee of 25% of the actual cost per offense. It should be noted the actual cost could include medical expenses incurred by the maintenance staff while alleviating the issue. Repeat offenders may also be scheduled for a public hearing as described in the Rules and Regulations PartE: Penalties. Egregious violations such the placing of excessive amounts (i.e. an entire demolished home) will be dealt with on an individual basis that may include the cost of the dumpster dump in addition to those costs identified above.
