The idea of a ThinkBike workshop is that Dutch experts will discuss a local cycling-related problem with two teams of local experts and other stakeholders of cycling. The confrontation of local and Dutch approaches of the local problems at hand will generate new perceptions and potential solutions that haven't been seriously considered before. The programme typically includes a presentation about the cycling culture and related cycling-inclusive policy development in the Netherlands, an explanation of the local (in this case Cypriot) cycling policies and two parallel work sessions to discuss one local problem in each team. ThinkBike workshops are then concluded with a presentation of the generated proposals for the solution of the local problems to a wider audience. The workshop in Nicosia and Larnaca was special in so far as there was an overlap between the participants of the workshop in both cities. This is due to the fact that in Cyprus the planning and implementation of a Cycling Network, as well as legislation and ruling matters concerning cycling are set by government sectors and responsible Ministries, following the views of Local Authorities.

In a 1960 referendum, the three religious groups were asked to choose to belong to either the Greek Cypriot or the Turkish Cypriot community. They opted to belong to the Greek Cypriot community. The members of all three groups, therefore, enjoy the same privileges, rights and benefits as the members of the Greek Cypriot community, including voting rights, eligibility for public office and election to official government and state positions, at all levels.

However a lot of action in this field is now taking place and this is what led to the decision to include the reassessment of the water legislation and institutions in the project along with the reassessment of water resources. It is a fact that most of the laws pertaining to water either directly or indirectly are quite old and were enacted during the colonial era.

FIELD OF WORK OF HEALTH VISITORS IN CYPRUS Current Health visitors’ Services in Cyprus. The main objectives of the Health visitors´ Services in Cyprus is the protection and promotion of health as well as the prevention of illness. Currently the following Health visitors´ Services are available in Cyprus: i. Maternity and Child Welfare Clinics ¾ The main objectives of this service is to offer preventive services to mother, infant or child and generally to the whole family in order to preserve and promote health and to prevent illness. ¾ Children attend a clinic several times during their first year of life, gradually reducing the visits to one appointment every six months and then once a year. ¾ The Health Visitor meets the parents and their children at the clinics or even at their homes. ¾ The Health Visitor assesses the child’s normal growth by measuring their weight, height and head circumference. Measurements are always marked on percentile charts to give an indication of how a child compares at one particular time with other children of the same age. Also to give a longitudinal representation of the child’s growth. ¾ The Health Visitor monitors the child’s physical, mental and social development and refers them for further investigation and treatment to other professionals (specialists) if necessary. ¾ At the clinic the child also receives all routine vaccinations according to the Cyprus Ministry of Health vaccination schedule. ¾ Offering support to the parents in regards to child raising is one of the most important tasks of the clinic. ¾ Counseling the families is also another task of the Health visitors at the clinics, e.g.
