It’s easy to understand the popularity of vintage jackets as there are so many reproduction faux fur versions on the High Street but the successful sale of stoles was more of a surprise. These sold for between £30 and £48 and here the type of fur made little difference. Fig 3. Two fur lots which would have been stylish and fun in the bad weather were the fur muffs, especially the chinchilla muff which sold for £65, Fig 4, more than the value of many of the fur jackets. Still with outerwear, there was a selection of coats for sale such as a mid twentieth century gents leather coat £25 and Fig 5, a late Victorian/early Edwardian jacket made locally at East Dereham which fetched £42.
