The system can be installed to stay in the rear-wheel drive with the help turned off. Both transmissions are equipped with electronic control of limited-slip differentials. Naturally, BMW also upgraded the chassis of the M3 and M4 to handle the extra power. Cars have extensive fastenings among percussion towers and stretchers. A tougher M suspension with different damping settings is standard. Light wrought-iron wheels are equipped, with basic models getting 18-inch front wheels and 19-inch rear wheels. The competition gets 19-inch front wheels and 20-inch rear wheels. The standard brakes for both types of models are 15-inch rotors with 6-piston calipers in front and 14.6-inch rotors at the back with single-piston wickets. Carbon ceramic brakes with large 15.75-inch rotors at the front and 15-inch rear rotors are available as an option. Another performance option is the M Drive Professional package. It includes a traction control system with 10 settings that control how much sliding tires are allowed before traction and stability control systems intervene. The package also includes a circle timer and a Drift Analyzer. The first records the lap time, and the second records what happens when drifting, such as angle and duration. This information can be shared through the available iPhone app. The interior of the M3 and M4, unsurprisingly, is very similar to the 3 series and 4 series. The wooden finish is not available; only aluminum or carbon fiber. The 12.3-inch dashboard display and 10.25-inch infotainment screen are standard equipment, as are more sports seats. BMW is offering a new set of additional carbon fiber power seats, which together will save an additional 21 pounds. They also have cutouts for Harness. Some bold interior colors are available, too, such as Kyalami Orange in the M3 photo, and Yas Marina Blue in the pictureed M4.
