About Headlinemoney.co.uk

Headlinemoney is the essential digital data service for money media professionals. Its comprehensive online platform is used by thousands of financial journalists and media relations professionals looking for news, contacts and comment. The platform has been voted the financial services industry’s favourite website. The Headlinemoney media awards

Headlinemoney brings together people who work in financial services media. Our annual awards programme, launched in 2002, reinforces the concept even further.

The mantra for the awards is simple: to recognise and celebrate the best journalists, media outlets and PR professionals covering, or working in, the financial services industry.

The awards are highly coveted because winners are nominated, judged and ultimately decided by their peers. has described the awards as “the Oscars for financial journalism”. In 2014 ’s money editor, Patrick Collinson (above), said he was “humbled” to win the overall journalist of the year award.

To see how highly senior members of the money media (journalists and PRs) regard the awards follow this video link to the 2014 ceremony.

2 When and where?

The Headlinemoney media awards dinner takes place in the Grand Ballroom (right) at the prestigious London Hilton on Park Lane. The evening begins with a champagne reception in the Wellington Room, with a superb view overlooking Park Lane. This is followed by a fabulous three-course dinner and trophy presentation hosted by a well-known personality. Previous presenters have included Alastair Campbell, Clare Balding, Ian Hislop and Gyles Brandreth.

2015 awards programme

The Headlinemoney media awards recognise excellence in all areas of financial media - from personal finance coverage to regional business reporting, and from City comment to the best in financial broadcasting. Recognition extends to those working in print, broadcasting and online (including dedicated social media trophies). The awards acknowledge both the industry’s rising stars and outstanding achievers and span the consumer press to those working in specialist B2B media. See page 5 for a full list of awards category sponsorship opportunities. 3

How the awards work

Each of the journalism awards category winners are ultimately determined by their peers from around the financial services media via a two-stage process

This rigorous approach is valued highly by participants and awards sponsors alike. A nominations phase is followed by a shortlisting procedure plus detailed assessment from dedicated judging panels (right). The panels offer sponsors an excellent opportunity to network with some of the UK’s most senior financial journalists.
