Tom is the President and CEO of Dayton Freight, a company he founded in 1981. Mike is the Executive Vice-President of Dayton Freight. The Cronins and Dayton Freight are long-time supporters of UD Athletics. - In December 2011, the Cronin Athletics Center officially opened. The creation of the CAC, which features state-of-the-art office space, additional academic space and team meeting rooms, has improved student-athlete welfare. It also includes film rooms, a Champion’s room lounge, and technology suites in the 9200 sq ft of office space. - The Center is also home to an on-campus basketball practice facility. The epicenter of Dayton Basketball remains at UD Arena, but this gives UD players a dedicated on-campus space for individual sessions, walk-throughs, open gyms and a place to simply work on their games when it best fits their schedules. 8 - 2011-12 UNIVERSITY OF DAYTON MEN’S BASKETBALL 2012-13 UNIVERSITY OF DAYTON WOMEN’S BASKETBALL - 9 SECTION NAME UD ARENA - In Men’s Health Magazine Clark Kellogg, lead college basketball UD ARENA analyst for CBS, wrote: The three places you must watch college ball before you die: Kansas’s Allen Field House, Duke’s Cameron Indoor ICONIC Stadium and Dayton’s UD Arena. - UD Arena successfully hosted the inaugural “First Four” of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament in 2011. The Arena is the most popular NCAA men’s basketball tournament venue, having been the site for 89 games. - U.S. President Barack Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron attended the first game of the 2012 First Four, giving many University of Dayton students and athletes a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet the president. - The media attention garnered included over 2.1 billion impressions worldwide and an estimated $1.1 million in earned media value. - Dayton

    An Atlantic 10 team has been to the NCAA’s every year since the tournament’s inception in 1983. In 1989 a league-high four teams represented the Atlantic 10 in the NCAA Tournament. Of the A-10’s active members, George Washington boasts the most NCAA Tournament appearances with 15 and is followed closely by Saint Joseph’s (12).
