NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

Notice is hereby given that a public meeting will be held by Madison County Mass Transit District (MCT) regarding MCT’s application with the Department of Transportation for Multi-Modal Transportation Bond Funds for Downstate Public Transportation. The public meeting will be held in an open-house format at the following time and location:

Wednesday, July 15 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Base of Operations Building 2 Boardroom One Transit Way Granite City, IL 62040

The purpose of the meeting is to present and obtain public input on projects within Madison County included in the grant application. At the hearing staff will afford an opportunity for interested persons or agencies to be heard with respect to the social, economic, and environmental aspects of the projects within the application. Interested persons may submit orally or in writing evidence and recommendations with respect to said projects. Alternative formats available upon request. All comments must be received by July 17 at 5:00 p.m.

This meeting will be accessible to individuals with disabilities. Any hearing-impaired person wishing to attend this meeting should contact Amanda Smith at 618-797-4600 at least one week before the scheduled hearing date so that arrangements can be made to provide an interpreter. Due to COVID-19 all individuals attending the meeting must wear a mask.

Madison County Transit (MCT) provides multi-modal transportation services for Madison County, Illinois. MCT operates a fixed-route service, connecting to MetroLink; express weekday commuter service directly to and from downtown St. Louis; and seasonal express service to the Muny. For elderly and disabled residents who are unable to use the fixed-route , MCT provides complementary door to door service. MCT is also responsible for the construction and maintenance of more than 137 miles of bikeways that comprise the MCT Trails system, as well as overseeing RideFinders, the St. Louis region’s FREE carpooling and vanpooling program. # # #
