Panther Families,

We are excited to announce our Spring Concert for the 2020 SY. This inspirational vocal and instrumental recital will be held on April 2nd, 2020. Students in Pre-Kindergarten through 1st grade will perform at 9:30am and students in 2nd through 5th grade will perform at 1:15pm. You will have the opportunity to see your children express feelings of hope, peace, freedom, and appreciation of the simple things of life through musical expression.

It is important for students to practice as much as possible in order to prepare for the concert. The success of this vocal and piano ensemble truly depends on how many times students practice at home the songs they will perform before the audience. After the Winter break, I will be evaluating the students in order to determine which grade is ready to perform the songs in choir and instrumental ensembles, and which grade needs more help. The more they practice on their voices and instruments, the better chance they have at being able to perform alone or in a group! You can support your child at home by practicing the following songs with your child. Please see the attached documents which include the lyrics of the vocal recital song.

It is important that every student and parent make their best effort to attend this concert. Every voice and single practice are important to make their concert a success! Please do not hesitate to contact the homeroom teacher or contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns. You may contact me at 202-553-8126, or by e-mail at [email protected].

We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming concert!

Sincerely,

Ms. Sandra Granobles Music Teacher

We are Panthers! We are Proud! We are Powerful!

Somos Panteras! Estamos Orgullosos! Somos Poderosos!

Familias Pantera,

Sinceramente,

La Sra. Sandra Granobles Profesor de música

Singing by Pink. Written by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul for The Greatest Showman soundtrack, "A Million Dreams" is sung by the young P. T. Barnum (Ziv Zaifman) to his future wife Charity Hallett (Michelle Williams). He tells her of his dreams for the future and explains his confidence that if they work hard for it, they will come true.

VERSE BRIDGET I close my eyes and I can see The world that's waiting up for me However big, however small That I call my own Let me be part of it all Through the dark, through the door Share your dreams with me Through where no one's been before You may be right, you may be wrong But it feels like home But say that you'll bring me along To the world you see They can say, they can say it all sounds crazy To the world I close my eyes to see They can say, they can say I've lost my mind I close my eyes to see I don't care, I don't care, so call me crazy We can live in a world that we design CHOIR CHOIR 'Cause every night I lie in bed Every night I lie in bed The brightest colors fill my head The brightest colors fill my head A million dreams are keeping me awake A million dreams are keeping me awake I think of what the world could be A million dreams, a million dreams A vision of the one I see I think of what the world could be A million dreams is all it's gonna take A vision of the one I see A million dreams for the world we're gonna make A million dreams is all it's gonna take A million dreams for the world we're gonna make VERSE For the world we're gonna make There's a house we can build Every room inside is filled With things from far away The special things I compile Each one there to make you smile On a rainy day They can say, they can say it all sounds crazy They can say, they can say we've lost our minds I don't care, I don't care if they call us crazy Runaway to a world that we design CHOIR Every night I lie in bed The brightest colors fill my head A million dreams are keeping me awake I think of what the world could be A vision of the one I see A million dreams is all it's gonna take A million dreams for the world we're gonna make
