PLANET VEGETA - MAIN CONTROL TOWER

KING VEGETA and VEGETA are staring at a window. Space Pods are departing. This scene is basically the flashback from Dragon Ball Z #124.

KING VEGETA Vegeta. Someday you will be the strongest Saiyan in the Universe.

KING VEGETA (CONT'D) As soon as we Saiyans are born, our abilities as warriors are investigated. The ones with the lower readings are sent off to planets where they will not face great opponents.

VEGETA (scoffs) Heh! Weaklings!

KING VEGETA But you, Prince, your abilities were the highest of anyone’s, that of a super-elite Saiyan! You are certain to become the greatest Saiyan this universe has ever seen! In fact you may even become the legendary Super Saiyan.

VEGETA The... legendary Super Saiyan?

KING VEGETA Our legends say that a Super Saiyan appears once every thousand years… a Saiyan who overcomes the wall which no warrior, no matter how gifted, can overcome.

VEGETA How does one defeat such a warrior?

KING VEGETA One doesn't. 2.

VEGETA Then how was the last one defeated?

KING VEGETA It wasn't. Legends say it laid waste to our original planet, Planet Sarada, destroying itself in the process.

VEGETA (gulps) Huh?

KING VEGETA But multiple are the interpretations. Some say that he was butchered by the gods. Or even by the mythical Saiyan Queen, Hanasia. In any case, the Super Saiyan of legends remains nonetheless a force to be reckoned with.

VEGETA How long ago was the previous Super Saiyan fought...?

KING VEGETA looks up. His flashback starts.

PLANET VEGETA - ROYAL COURTROOM

VABORU and his squad just came back from their visit of Planet Sarada.

VABORU We set the markings at 970 years ago, maybe slightly less...

KING VEGETA ...

VABORU The statues. The markings. The Sword. This all leads to one conclusion: we have found the battlefield where the Legendary Super Saiyan was fought. 3.

VABORU It wasn't a myth. And if we start to consider it reality. This means that the Super Saiyan will appear in around 30 years, give or take.

KING VEGETA ... this stays off the record.

VABORU What?

KING VEGETA This discovery of yours shall remain hidden. The planet is to be destroyed immediately. Peppra!

PEPPRA (jumpy) Y-yes!

KING VEGETA I leave the task to you.

PEPPRA (determined) Yes, your Highness.

VABORU Wait! You're not even gonna inform the population? They have to prepare! Last time the Legendary Super Saiyan appeared he nearly killed us all!

KING VEGETA Are you questioning your King?

VABORU You're goddamn right I am!

KING VEGETA Then if you wish to live beyond the next minute, I suggest you comply, or else I'll have Gerkin destroy you. 4.

VABORU Why? Too scared to do it yourself, O King?! And here I thought you specialized in murdering weaklings, just ask the Tsufurs!

Silence. The entire room watches at father and son, in fear. KING VEGETA looks at VABORU with murderous instinct. VABORU doesn't break his gaze. He is terrified but tries to hide it with an angry scowl.

BETARAVO steps forward, covering VABORU.

VABORU ?

BETARAVO What young Vaboru means is: "Yes Your Majesty, right away!"

KING VEGETA ...

VABORU ...

GERKIN & PEPPRA ...

KING VEGETA Leave now.

They all turn, leaving the court.

KING VEGETA (CONT'D) Oh. And one more thing.

VABORU stops. He doesn't turn around.

KING VEGETA You shall hand over the Sword to General Betaruga. It belongs to the Royal family, which, let me remind you, you have no longer been a part of for years now. A low-class warrior carriying the Sword would be dishonoring of the Royal Saiyan dynasty, and such an act would be so treacherous that (MORE) 5.

KING VEGETA (CONT'D) only an execution could forgive it.

The boy walks off. His squad follows. King Vegeta watches, with contained murderous fury.

PLANET VEGETA - ROYAL COURTROOM - CORRIDOR

Walking out of the throne room, BETARUGA is waiting outside, leaning on the wall, with her arms crossed.

BETARUGA How'd it go?

BETARAVO Worse than you'd expect.

BETARUGA That bad, huh...?

VABORU keeps walking. He throws the Sword to BETARUGA's feet. He doesn't stop, he doesn't even look at her. BETARUGA looks down at the Sword.

BETARUGA Pick that up.

VABORU stops. He doesn't turn around.

VABORU The Sword is to be given to you. King's orders.

BETARUGA I don't give a shit. I ain't your goddamn dad. If you give me something, you do it, you don't act like a bitch about it. Pick it up.

VABORU walks back. He picks up the Sword. He hands it to BETARUGA.

VABORU Better? 6.

BETARUGA bends over so her face is at the same length as VABORU's. She looks straight in his eyes.

BETARUGA The next time you even THINK of fucking with me, I'll turn you to cinder.

She straightens, and walks away. VABORU stays in the same position, with his arms holding the Sword before him.

VABORU You forgot your Sword.

BETARUGA (as she's walking) Imma get it later... unless, of course you'll have become so skilled in using it that I just won't be able to pry it from your hands...

VABORU stares at her. Serious expression. His expression changes to a smile. A determined, crazy, evil Saiyan smile.

SPACE - SPACE POD

The flashback ends, we're in a Saiyan Pod.

The shadowy silhouette(VABORU) puts his hand on the Sword.

VABORU Let's see you try and pry it from my hands now, General...

The pod keeps flying.

PLANET VEGETA - ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF THE LOW-CLASS VILLAGE

BETARAVO is laying down on the roof of a house, a meat-loaf near him, a bottle in his hand. He tries to drink, but it's empty.

BETARAVO Goddamnit...! 7.

He notices a shooting star. The star draws closer.

Elsewhere in the village, Bardock and Toma notice it. The star draws even closer.

Gine, Seripa and Peppra notice it. The star is no star.

The shining sfere lands in the middle of the village.

The inhabiting Saiyans all gather round, surprised.

Peppra is in the front lines. She turns her scouter on.

PEPPRA Get me the King...!

BETARAVO is also in the front line. He has a two-panel flashback, thinking of the mural drawing he saw on the ruins of Sarada... an amongst the various fighters illustrated: a slim cat...! Like... like...

The shining sfere fades out, revealing two bizarre figures standing inside it. A tall humanoid with white hair... and a cat...!

BEERUS yawns. He looks around him.

BEERUS Good evening, Saiyans.

He grins.

BEERUS (CONT'D) Take me to your King.
