What is The Valley like? The opening of the North Stand during the early 2000s has completely transformed the look of The Valley, with the derelict old ground from several years ago now a distant memory.

Up to 3,000 away fans are housed opposite in the Jimmy Seed (South) Stand behind the goal where, due to it being slightly raised above pitch level, they can enjoy a generally good view of the action.

Food on offer includes a range of pies, while there are also separate hot dog stalls.

Directions Leaving the M25 at Junction 2, follow the A2 towards London before merging onto the A102 towards the Blackwall Tunnel. Thereon, leave the A102 on the next slip road for the A206 (signposted & Ferry) and turn right at the traffic lights towards Woolwich/Charlton. Proceed along the A206 and The Valley is diagonally behind the Antigallican pub. Alternatively, turn right at the second roundabout before taking the next left onto Charlton Road. After passing the Royal Oak pub, turn right into Harvey Gardens and the ground is on your left.

Car parking Parking at The Valley is for permit holders only, while a local residents parking scheme will prevent you from leaving your vehicle within the vicinity of the stadium. However, street parking is available on your right just before the Rose of Denmark pub as you come off the A2 onto the A206.

By train The Valley is a short walk from Charlton Railway Station, which is served by trains from Charing Cross, London Bridge and Waterloo East. The journey from Swansea takes just over four hours. Leaving the station into Charlton Church Lane, turn right and cross the road before taking the next left into Floyd Road. Then go right into Valley Grove for the away fans’ entrance.
