The Philadelphia Eagles are still contenders. Despite what happened last Sunday in Dallas. The Eagles are a still a very formidable squad.

The Eagles may have three losses but two of them are to staunch division rivals. Dallas and Washington.

Dallas is currently the best team in the NFC and had to rely on trick plays and overtime for their victory last Sunday. There is no shame in losing to a team like Dallas.

The NFC East may be the best division in the NFL, take that into account and two division losses don't look so bad now.

The Eagles also lost to the Lions, but so did Washington. So, it still doesn't look too bad.

Philadelphia has a top three defense, on some days they have a top two defense and against Minnesota and Pittsburgh, Philadelphia had the best defense in the league.

The Eagles offense has struggled as of late, but if they rekindle the fire they had in the first three games, it can spell trouble for upcoming opponents.

Philadelphia has a very capable running back in Darren Sproles and Ryan Mathews is still a very good option as well. When he's healthy. Mathews can do most his damage in the red zone and short yardage situations.

Philadelphia also has two young backs in Wendell Smallwood and Kenjon Barner. The original running by committee approach won the first three games. Philadelphia will definitely need to visit that strategy again if they intend to succeed.

Carson Wentz is one of the greatest rookie quarterbacks in history and he's doing the best he can without much help. Play-calling has been extremely conservative and the Eagles receivers are barely serviceable at times. But, with Josh Huff out of the lineup, Bryce Treggs gets to show what he can do. There is nothing more dangerous than a rookie wide receiver who's got something to prove. Especially one with the speed

The Eagles need to get the ball back into sure hands. Brent Celek and Zach Ertz are those guys. They will be security blankets for Wentz .

The Eagles have their backs against a wall and it's time for them to show the league what they are.

A force to be reckoned with.
