More than 5,000 foreigners holding a permanent or tempo- rary residence permits live in Nitra. They are mainly from Ser- bia, Ukraine, Italy, Romania, Bul- garia and the Czech Republic.

Everyone who lives in Nitra and has a temporary or permanent residence, including foreigners, has the right to participate in the self-government of the city. He/she can participate in local government meetings, address proposals or petitions to the mayor, the city council and local government advisory bodies. Parking system in Nitra

Nitra is divided into two parking zones, where it is possible to park only with a valid parking ticket. The parking ticket can be purchased at a vending machine or via SMS sent to 2200. The price of the parking fee in the 1st zone is 0.50 EUR for the first hour and 1.50 for each additio- nal hour. The price of parking in the 2nd zone is 0.50 EUR for the first hour and 1 EUR for each additional hour.

If you want to travel outside the city, you can use a relatively rich train and bus network. There is a bus and train station in Nitra, which connects the city with nearby and more distant regions of Slovakia.
