HON’BLE MR.JUSTICE C.SARAVANAN will sit single at 2.15 P.M. on 04.09.2020 and take up the cases through Video conferencing as listed. // By Order // HIGH COURT, MADRAS : M.JOTHIRAMAN DATED : 03.09.2020 : REGISTRAR (JUDICIAL) **************** 2 NOTIFICATION NO. 190/2020 STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE FOR ADVOCATES FOR THE PHYSICAL HEARING OF COURTS WITH EFFECT FROM.07.09.2020 1) Entry of the Advocates will be through Gate No.2 (North Gate) only. 2) Cars / Two wheelers shall be parked at the MBA /MHAA parking slots. 3) Advocates shall wash their hands in the wash basins provided at the entry point. 4) Advocates shall undergo thermal scanning / thermal check. 5) Advocates shall fill up the requisite form, which will be provided at the entry point and also the Self-Declaration. 6) Advocates displaying symptoms of flu, fever, cough, etc., will not be permitted inside the High Court premises. 7) Only the learned counsel on record for each party / counsel authorized by him, senior counsel engaged by advocates, registered clerk for carrying heavy case files of the learned counsel on record / Senior counsel and party -in –person will be permitted for attending physical hearings. 8) Law clerks, interns or law students associated with the advocates concerned will not be permitted. 9) Litigants, non-registered clerks, relative of any party-in-person / litigant will not be permitted. 10) Advocates, party-in-person and registered clerks above the age of 65 years and those suffering from co-morbidities shall refrain from appearing in courts. 3 11) Advocates shall wear mask at all times, adhere to the norm of social distancing and shall also adhere to all the directions / guidelines /SOPs /advisories issued by the Government of India in respect of COVID-19 Pandemic. 12) They shall reach First Floor (waiting area) by using either the steps or lift (only 3 persons) available at the MBA entrance. 13) They shall thereafter proceed to the concerned Court Halls i.e., Court Hall Nos.1 to 6 from the waiting area. 14) In order to ensure strict adherence to the norm of social distancing, limited seats are provided in Court Halls and also waiting area. 15) Entry into Court Halls will be permitted to those advocates / party-in-person whose case is called out for hearing and also for the advocates whose case is the immediate next, subject to availability of space. 16) Display Boards will be functional for the Advocates’ convenience and information. 17) Advocates shall avoid going to sections. 18) Advocates shall not to go to Law Chambers and Association rooms without prior permission from the Registry as per the Notification issued earlier. 19) The Library and Canteen will remain closed until further orders. 20) Medical assistance in the form of Ambulance with complete infrastructure to tackle COVID-19 Emergencies will be stationed during working hours in the High Court campus.
