Père Lachaise – - Sacré Coeur – Vineyards

Follow boulevard Ménilmontant to the south up till the entrance of Père Lachaise cemetery on your left. Enter through the gates and ask the gatekeeper for a map. Many famous people are buried here, for instance French singer Edith Piaf and American singer Jim Morrison. Walk around and look at the graves of famous and less famous people in this park-like cemetery.

Go back to metro station Père Lachaise and take metro line 2 to Blanche station.

Enter rue Lepic uphill and take a look at the colorful market and several foodshops. On the corner of rue Cauchois is the café Des deux Moulins, famous for the shooting of the film Le fabuleux destin d’Amélie Poulain. At nr. 11 stands the famous . lived for a time at nr. 56 and at nr. 77 you will find the , one of the famous of the 19th and 20th century.

Keep following rue Lepic, meandering uphill, go left at place J.B. Clément and right into rue Norvins. You now run into place du Tertre. In the center are all kinds of artist and their paintings. You can have your portret drawn here. Around the square are lots of cafés and restaurants.

Go back to rue Norvins and go right till rue du Mont Cenis. Go right and then left into rue Azaïs. To your left is the Sacré-Coeur church. From the square in front of the church you have a beautiful view of . Take a look inside the church, climb the dome or sit on the stairs in front.

Pass the Sacré-Coeur on the left and go left into rue Chevalier. Go right into rue du Mont Cenis, go immediately left into rue Cortot and again right into rue des Saules. At the corner of rue Vincent are the Montmartre Vineyards. Opposite is the Lapin Agile, famous for its in the 19th century.

Follow the rue des Saules, on your left is the Saint-Vincent cemetery. Go straight on till rue Caulaincourt and go left. Metro station Lamarck- Caulaincourt is on your right.
