To: Isabel Cardenas and the rest of the Andres y Maria Cardenas Family Foundation:
Thank you so much for this scholarship money as this amount has truly helped me and my family fund my way through college. Having enough funds to pay for my tuition, books, and all the extra expenses (plane tickets, food, etc) has always been an issue that has put a strain on my entire family and so your generous donation has truly helped my family in significant ways.
I am currently a freshman at the University of Pennsylvania. As I am enrolled in the Wharton School, I plan on concentrating in finance and management and will graduate with a B.S. in economics. Having already wrapped up my first semester at Upenn, I am defintiely amazed at the endless opportunities I am constantly given and feel extremely grateful that I was given a chance to experience such a great education. Penn has given me chance to pursue activities that I love outside the classroom as well as I have recently been voted in Upenn's Undergraduate Assembly as a Freshman representative in which I constantly pursue the betterment of student life on campus. I have been given lots of support in my academic community for projects that I plan to pursue in the future. Because of your help, I am able to concentrate more on utilizing my surroundings and putting more time into studying than focusing on financial issues.
Again thank you so much for your generosity and support. I will use this wonderful opportunity and support you have given to me to the fullest! Happy Holidays!
