• ’s Fall is in the air. The trees are brilliant with autumn colors popping, the weather is crisp, and people are anxious to enjoy the scenery and explore the area of Red Wing. Located on the , our route offers river and city views. Join Personalized Tours on this short tour to the scenic bluff country of filled with interesting stops and relaxing atmospheres. This historic and scenic city has the perfect blend of natural beauty and active manufacturing. We then board Amtrak’s Empire Builder for a leisurely ride along the Mississippi before we meet our coach in Columbus, WI for our final trek home. Day 1—Travel to Red Wing, MN

We travel across and midday we arrive at beautiful Cabin Ridge Rides near Eau Claire. The Percheron draft horses are patiently waiting at the hitching post to take us on a tour deep into the natural hardwoods and pine plantations. Lunch will be served in the rustic cabin before we continue to Red Wing, MN. We check into Treasure Island Resort & Casino for our extended stay. (L, D) Day 2—Lake City, MN

After breakfast we begin our day with visits to the places that made Red Wing famous, Red Wing Shoes and Red Wing Pottery. Both of these stores have informative museums that allow us to take a look at the how, what, where and why of their products. In between our visits we enjoy a delicious lunch and board a modern-day paddlewheel cruise on the Lake Pepin section of the Mississippi River. Our final stop will be at scenic Falconer Vineyards for some wine tasting. (B, L) Day 3—Homeward Bound via Amtrak

After our fun-filled getaway, we hop on our coach for the short ride to the Amtrak station in Red Wing where we board the Empire Builder. We find that the tracks follow a scenic route along the banks of the Mississippi, through the rolling hills and farmland to Columbus, WI. Our deluxe coach meets us at the station for the final leg of our trip. We return home with memories of a delightful 3-day getaway. (B) *Personalized Tours reserves the right to opt out of the Amtrak portion of this tour if the train is extremely delayed that it would be an inconvenience to our travelers. There will be no refund for that portion but a lunch will be provided.
