Stax Museum The tour starts with a short introductory video (which alone is worth the price of admission!). From there you will see an amazing collection of more than 2,000 interactive exhibits, films, artifacts, items of memorabilia, galleries, and – of course – Isaac Hayes' gold-plated, peacock blue 1972 Superfly Cadillac El Dorado.

Belz Museum The Belz Museum opened in 1998 and was originally three small rooms; over the years, the museum has expanded and now encompasses 24,000 square-feet of exhibition space and over 1,400 objects.

Originally the private collection of local entrepreneur, Jack A. Belz, and his wife, Marilyn, most pieces on display were donated by them to the foundation that runs the museum. The Belz Museum has 5 permanent exhibit galleries: 3 Asian, 1 Judaic, and the Holocaust Memorial Gallery. Special exhibits are brought in semi-annually.

National Civil Rights Museum The National Civil Rights Museum and Lorraine Hotel is a place in history and symbolism, not just for black Americans but for all who cherished King's ideals and vision. The museum may be built with bricks and mortar, but the message the National Civil Rights Museum delivers is enough to change the world, one visitor at a time.

Admission to the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis is $15 for adults, $14 for seniors and students with ID and $12 for children ages 4-17. Plan for at least two hours to take the self-guided tour. The museum is closed every Tuesday.

Sun Studio See where made history. This is the place where music greats like , , , and, of course, the King himself, got their start. Local musicians make excellent tour guides as visitors peruse a large collection of memorabilia and artifacts, including original recordings, a replica of Sam Phillip’s tape machine and handbills. The tour concludes in the studio itself, which still looks much like it did on that fateful day in 1954 when Elvis recorded his version of “That’s All Right” and rock ‘n’ roll was born. Graceland You can’t come to Memphis without making the trek to . While the house may not seem big by today’s standards, in the 1950s it was downright opulent. While you’re there, check out his two private planes and all of his fancy rides in the car museum.

Metal Museum Kick off your trip in an unexpected way by making your first stop the Metal Museum. Nestled on the bank of the , this is the only museum in the country dedicated to the craft of artisan metalwork.
