GAME#10 Sam Houston State 16, Frostburg State 3 - Despite a 16-hit attack, Sam Houston State had to use three hurlers with Ron Kainer (4-2) getting the win in relief. John Helmick (9-5) was the loser. John O'Leary, Jim Pitts, Terry Roach and Sammy Manteau each collected three hits for the winners. Pitts got the second home run of the tournament with a 389-foot blast over the left field fence with a pair of runners on base in the first inning.

GAME#11 LaVerne 5, David Lipscomb 4 - It was night-owl time when the third game ended Wednesday for the game started at 11:03 p.m. and finished at 2:00 a.m. Thursday as LaVerne again escaped with a one-run victory and had to call on ace Frank DiCrasto from the bullpen. Craig Bowser (5-1) was the winner with DiCrasto getting the same while Danny Burns (4-3) suffering the loss. Dave Cripe had a pair of hits for LaVerne while Harston and Farrell Gean had two hits apiece for the Bisons.
