EUROPEAN VETERAN INDOOR RECORDS 2007 31.12.2007 Compiled by Ivar Söderlind, Statistician of EVAA 1 EUROPEAN VETERAN INDOOR RECORDS 2007 31.12.2007 Compiled by Ivar Söderlind, statistician of EVAA In 2007 it is set up 42 European Indoor Records, 20 for men and 22 for women. 24 of the records are World Records and 23 of the Records were noted in EVACI in Helsinki March 22-25. In this list I present records up to December 31 2007. Hence I have not in my list noted new World Record 2008. It is Carl-Erik Särndal, Sweden who set up the World Record in Lund, Sweden January 12 with the result 156 in M70 High Jump I and Ove Edlund, my statistician colleague in Sweden, are still working with European Record lists for Pentathlon (with 2004 WMA Scoring Tables). In this list I present updated preliminary Record lists for Pentathlon mostly based on WMA and EVAA Indoor Championships. The results from W65+ 3000m in WMA Indoor Championship in Linz March 15-20 2006 can not be considered for records. The number of laps that the athletes ran can not be verified and therefore a record can not be accepted. Observe that for Weight Throw it always must be Weight Throw indoors, not outdoors in an Indoor Championship!! When two or more results are noted in one age group and event the first noted result is the official record. Only results with all tasks reported (Birth Date, Date and Place for the Competition) are approved as official records. Only electronically timing is accepted for distances up to and including 400m. For distances from 200m and more the track round must be 220yards (201.168m) or shorter. I have noted if the European Records in this list are World Records or better than the Official World Records. Please check the list given below and help me to make it more complete (i e Pentathlon Records). All new records must be reported by a Record Application (preferably EVAA:s Record Application)! # = The track round is more than 220 yards (201.168m) (no official record). * = new or modified records Last updated – 1. Nov. 2017 The Combined Events When an athlete has finished his Combined Event, he has achieved something special - it makes no difference if this was a Throwing Pentathlon, normal Pentathlon, Heptathlon (Women Masters) or the Kings event, the Decathlon. "King of the Athletes" or "King of the Stadium", this phrase holds in itself the Honour to all the athletes, who have accomplished a Repertoir of Performances during many hours, even in some cases during two days. Certainly, all Decathletes, which disposes of all the technical abilities and the physical body fitness, get a real feeling of satisfaction when they succesfully end their challenge. After all, they live in a 2 days "Non Stop Action". During that time they are challenged up to the highest limits, as well physically as mentally. Or you could say, they challenge themselves. But from a certain age, it is getting more difficult for athletes to live up to their own expectations. The older one gets, the more recent perform ances differ from past personal records. This is the basis to establish the Age Factors. They take into account the performance reduction due to old age, and bring these recent performances as an elderly up to the former regular standard performances that were accomplishedas a youngster. Requirements of the IAAF: I. If we carry out comparisons in the Combined Events, this must be guaranteed according to the specifications of the IAAF. Why we have them? The guidelines of the IAAF: a.) - The wind conditions at Sprint, hurdles, jump (wide and three) and more battles must be present - Without specifying any recognition of records.

NUTS NOTES Vol.18 No.4 October I960 The response to the last issue was most encouraging both from the interest shown by athletics enthusiasts in this country and abroad and in the number of contributions submitted for this issue or promised for future issues. However the overall number of contributors is still comparatively small and I hope that others will be encouraged to submit contributions in future. Considerable interest has been shown in the UK All Time Lists previously published; a list of compilations appearing in previous editions of NUTS Notes is as follows Vol 7 No.3 Pentathlon (m ) Vol 9 No.3 Pentathlon (F) 100mH 1971 Tables Vol 10 No.2 4 x 100mR (F) Vol 10 No.3 Decathlon Vol 10 No.4 HJ (M) Vol 11 N o .1 Pentathlon (f ) 100mH 1971 Tables Vol 11 No.2 3000mW & 5000mW (F ) 4 x 400mR (F) Vol12 No.1 400m (M ) Vol 12 No.3 800m (m ) Vol 12 No.4 1500m (M), 1000m(M ) , 1000y (M), 2000m (M) Vol 13 No.3 1M (M ) Vol 14 No.1 3M/ 5000m (M) Vol 15 Nos 3/4 6m /10000m (M ) Vol 18 No.3 SP, DT, HT, JT (M ) Some, of course, were combined performers/performances. My thanks to Andrew Huxtable for this list. I had very much hoped to include a Who’s Who of NUTS members in this issue (that is, of those members who returned the questionnaire that was sent out). However, this will now appear in the next issue and another form is enclosed for those members who have not yet replied.
