During the meeting the Group heard a presentation by Professor Emma Renold, lecturer in childhood studies at Cardiff University, on the exploratory qualitative research project entitled Children’s Sexual Cultures, Equalities and Well-Being: Understanding the pre-teen sexual cultures from children’s own views and experiences (age 10-12).

The Group heard from Professor Emma Renold, from Cardiff University, regarding the role of PSE in promoting gender equality and healthy relationships. Then followed a presentation on PSE and healthy relationships from Siriol Burford, Assistant Headteacher of Michaelston Community College and Glyn Derw High School, accompanied by some students.

Summary of issues discussed: The emergency AGM was held at short notice in order to appoint a Chair and Secretary for the CPG group.

The new rules for the operation of CPGs came into force at the beginning of the autumn term in September 2013. The rules require that CPGs hold an AGM within 12 months of registration. The group intended to hold their AGM on 6 May 2014; the meeting was changed to an OGM during the meeting due to a full agenda and several apologies from Assembly Members.
