Dilpreet Kaur Walia Writer, Children's, Preschool, 6+ Years, Animation, Series Developer Agent: Jean Kitson - Jean@Kitsonpress.Co.Uk Dilpreet Kaur Walia Writer, Children's, Preschool, 6+ years, Animation, Series Developer Agent: Jean Kitson - [email protected] Dilpreet is convinced that she is not only a creative animation script writer and puppeteer but is also a Disney Princess; after all, her name translates from Punjabi-to-English as Heart Love Princess Warrior. She hopes that her stick-fighting and writing skills help her live up to her name’s meaning. Dilpreet has had her animated comedy performed live in the heart of the West End in London’s Phoenix Artist Club. This script has gone on to become a Quarter-finalist in the US with BlueCat’s Screenplay Contest, the script reader saying “this script is like Pixar’s version of Sausage Party. This is textbook proper storytelling.” As well as this selection, Dilpreet’s other scripts have gone on to win Best Comedy Screenplay in the US with TopShorts, Cannes Screenplay Contest Official Finalist, Winner of Hollywood Just4Shorts Best Comedy Screenplay and a New York Screenplay Contest Official Finalist. Since graduating with an MA in Screenwriting from Met Film School, Dilpreet has written children’s TV scripts as well as adverts and campaigns for various clients such as Sandows, DirectorsUK, The Royal Marsden and Keep Britain Tidy. Aside from writing, Dilpreet has also worked as a Puppeteer on Netflix’s dark fantasy/adventure series ‘Dark Crystal’ which won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Children’s Programme in September 2020, and worked as a Puppeteer Intern on the Sesame Street & CBeebies co-production called ‘The Furchester Hotel’. She was delighted to voice and puppeteer ‘Muppet Dilpreet’ who appears in four episodes of the show. Currently, Dilpreet is juggling being a script editor, writing for animation and puppeteering.
