A new year and a new line-up of fantastic shows covering live drama, streamed screenings, comedy, music, children's shows, local history and top-rated films. All this plus a public bar, facilities for societies and private functions, children's performing arts, special one-off events, costume hire and Shillingfords restaurant open on weekend evenings.

2017 is looking to be a packed year already!

Huge improvements to the auditorium heating have been made with help from Babergh grant funding and the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts (Sudbury division) and this coming year we will be looking at the bar area and the terrace to see what improvements can be made there for our many users.

EDDY THE TEDDY: TEDDY’S DAY ON THE FARM BARKING DOG THEATRE COMPANY Wed 12th April 2:30pm Tickets: £6.00 (No concessions)

Eddy the Teddy is off to the farm! The show uses many elements of theatre, mime, puppetry and songs to join in with. It’s a perfect introduction to live entertainment for children who’ve never been to a show before, and a welcome return for Eddy the Teddy’s young fans. Age 3-6 advised.

page 3 & The Quay offers a number of outreach programmes to encourage young people in the community to get involved in their local theatre. Quay Comets is a weekly, term time drama course aimed at children aged 6-10, running on Mondays after school (5.30-7.00). Quay Novas is for children 10+ running on Thurday evenings (5.30-7.00). The cost for both is just £40.00 for a term. Please contact the Quay Theatre for an application form and payment. It is on a first come first served basis! Over ten weeks children will take part in a variety of drama games, activities and scenarios with the goal of building confidence, working as a team alongside children of a similar age, and fostering a love of performing...while of course having lots of fun along the way! There is a show for both groups at the end of the term, for family and friends to see (tickets sold separately).

THE QUAY SUMMER SCHOOL OF PERFORMING ARTS A chance to learn and refine performance skills in acting, movement and music through classes, workshops and performance. This is for children aged 10-16. There are two performances at the end of the course (Friday and Saturday evenings), so the Summer School will run an extra, but shorter, day on the Saturday. Course Fees: £100.00 (For 2 children from the same family: £180.00) The 2017 Summer School will run from 24th – 29th July and application forms will be available from January.

Storytime A Once a month we have Storytime on the first floor of the building. Starting at 10.30am on a Monday for roughly an hour we have a theatrically experienced storyteller reading a popular book for little ones with interaction, aimed at 0-4 years. This is a free event and always fun! Refreshments are available for adults and children and parents/guardians can leave cumbersome pushchairs and the like in the care of the Box Office staff. Our Spring ‘History Sundays’ seasons continue this year with a wide variety of talks on local history and seats can be booked for individual dates or for the season of 6. We have 3 additional talks: Peter Cooper, Barry Wall (in May) and David Burnett (Caught on Camera). These must be booked separately and are not part of the ticketed ‘season’ but are also fundraisers.
