BACKGROUNDER: KENNEDY STATION

Kennedy Station will be the Crosstown’s eastern terminal station, located underground southeast of the Kennedy Road and East intersection. The station will be a Mobility Hub, connecting to the GO Transit , a TTC bus terminal, and the TTC’s Lines 2 and 3.

TIMELINE • Construction began in 2017 with the commencement of piling works and utility relocation. • The station will be completed in 2021. KEY FEATURES • Four station entrances: one at the southwest corner of Eglinton Avenue and Transway Crescent, a second in the Station Aerial new GO ticketing building, a third at the existing TTC south entrance and a fourth at the GO south entrance • 40 outdoor and 80 indoor bicycle parking spaces • Direct transfers within the fare-paid area to TTC’s Line 2 and 3, as well as the TTC bus terminal • Retail spaces on concourse level within both the fare-paid and non fare-paid areas • Additional infrastructure elements: new underground station area, a new GO ticketing building, a new GO pas- New Entrance and Plaza senger pick-up and drop-off and a new west rail platform at the GO Station STATION CONSTRUCTION • Station construction includes building a portal on Eglinton between and Kennedy that will link the surface section to the underground Kennedy Station. • The new Crosstown station area will sit north of the existing underground Kennedy Station area, and will be connected by two passageways.
