The Webb Ellis Cup The cup is 38cm tall, weighs 4.5kg and has the words ‘International Board’ on its face and ‘The Webb Ellis Cup’ underneath it. It is silver gilt, which means it is made of silver covered with a thin layer of gold. It was made in London in 1906 by the royal jewellers, Garrads.

Its handles are decorated with a nymph (a fairy- like spirit of nature from Greek myths) on one and a satyr (a half-man, half-horse spirit of nature, also from Greek myths) on the other.
